This is a list of fictional raccoons.
Raccoons in mythology
- Tanuki in Japanese Mythology. "Tanuki" is often mistranslated "raccoon". They are really raccoon dogs (genus Nyctereutes procyonoides in family Canidae). The physical resemblance which lends them their English name is superficial.
