  • Hornblower (1998 - 2003 TV series) - first four episodes (The Duel, The Fire Ships, The Duchess and the Devil, The Wrong War)
  • Napoleon (2002) (TV mini-series) - early half of first episode showing Napoleon's first Italian campaign and the Battle of Arcole
  • Napoleon and Josephine: A Love Story (1987) (TV mini-series) - early segment of mini-series showing Napoleon's Egyptian campaign

  • Mangal Pandey: The Rising (about the 1857 mutiny)
  • Lives of a Bengal Lancer (1935, about suppressing rebellious Indians towards the end of the 19th century)
  • Wee Willie Winkie (1936, features British forces suppressing Indian rebels, but the focus on child star Shirley Temple may cause many to exclude this film from a 'war film' category)
  • Gunga Din (suppression of the Thugees and local rebellions)
