Presided by Conrad Hilton, the Hilton Hotel chain has hotels in many different locations across the world and has partnerships with many airline and car rental companies.

One of their hotels, the Caribe Hilton in San Juan, Puerto Rico, is considered the most luxurious hotel in that country and one of the most famous hotels all over the Caribbean. Another of their hotels, the Las Vegas Hilton, is a major convention center which has also hosted many important world championship boxing fights.

During the Vietnam War, the Hanoi Hilton was overtaken by the North Vietnamese army and used as a place to torture American soldiers. This was documented in the Hollywood movie, Hanoi Hilton.

The Hilton Hotels company has always been a family enterprise.
