The Hetmanate (Ukrainian: Гетьманат or Гетьманщина) was a political entity ruled by a hetman.

It may refer to:

  • Cossack Hetmanate, a Cossack state in the central and north-eastern regions of Ukraine during 1649-1775.
  • Cossack regiments: The name Hetmanate, especially in Russian sources, referred to Cossack regiments in Left-bank Ukraine that were under of the authority of Moscow's hetman, from 1667 onward. This excludes both Zaporizha and Sloboda Ukraine.[1]
  • Left-bank Ukraine, referred to as "Little Russia" and "Hetmanate" in Russian sources.[2]
  • Ukrainian State, a short-lived polity in Ukraine during 1918.
