Meera Mitun, is an Indian film actress, super model and beauty pageant titleholder who works predominantly in Tamil films. She won the title of Miss South India in 2016. She made her film debut in Sri Ganesh's 8 Thottakkal. She has walked the ramp for national designers, among many other models from Chennai.[1][2][3] Later she was stripped of her title Miss South India 2016.[4]
Biography
Meera Mitun was born in a Hindu family in Chennai. She attended Maharishi Vidhya Mandir High School and later graduated bachelors in microbiology from Ethiraj College for Women further pursued masters in biotechnology from SRM University.
Pageant history
Miss India South 2016
Meera Mitun was the winner of Miss India South 2016, first ever Chennai girl to get crowned in the 15 years pageant history to grab the title among competitive 18 contestants from different states of south India. She was also crowned Miss Tamilnadu 2016, represented Tamil Nadu under the state regional category competing among the various contestants from Tamil Nadu. However in June 2019, her Miss India South title was taken back by the organizer on allegation of misuse of logo and title.[5][6]
Miss Queen Of India 2016
Meera Mitun represented Tamil Nadu in Miss Queen of India 2016, among various contestants all over India and was crowned Miss Queen of South 2016 under the regional category among all contestants represented south.
Acting career
Meera Mitun made her cinematic debut through the Kollywood flick "8 Thottakkal" directed by Sri Ganesh in 2017, where she was portrayed as a girl next door who lives in North Madras, as a person in contrast to the model in her. Her critically acclaimed performance bagged second flick for Suriya's Thaanaa Serndha Koottam directed by Vignesh Shivan, played the wife role of actor Kalaiyarasan.
