Mervyn Day (born 1955), was 20 years old when he kept goal for West Ham United in their 1975 F.A Cup victory over Fulham. He was credited with the PFA Young Player of the Year Award that same season. Day later turned out for Leeds United and was understudy to John Lukic in their 1992 league title triumph. He was later manager of Carlisle United and got them promoted to Division Two in 1997.
