Sean Berdy (born June 3, 1993)[1] is a Deaf American actor. He has appeared in the film sequel The Sandlot 2 and currently stars in Switched at Birth, playing the role of Emmett Bledsoe. He is one of the two main deaf characters in the show. He's seen as the best friend of Daphne (Katie Leclerc), with a budding relationship with Bay (Vanessa Marano)
Personal life
Sean Berdy was born in Boca Raton, Florida. He was born deaf, and most of his film and television appearances feature his use of American Sign Language.[2] As a sophomore student at the Indiana School for the Deaf, he was named the 2010 Mr. Deaf Teen America, a pageant started in 1999 by the Model Secondary School for the Deaf.<ref>"2010 Deaf Teen America Pageant (2010)". Sean has appeared in The Sandlot 2 as Sammy "Fingers" Samuelson, and has also appeared in The Bondage and two films in ASL, The Deaf Family and The Legend of the Mountain Man. He was in a Sprint commercial, and currently stars as Emmett in Switched at Birth
