Steve Schwartz (d. 2020, age 78) was a professor of pathology at the University of Washington.[1]
He researched vascular biology, investigating the structure of blood vessels and smooth muscle cells.[1]
In 1963 he graduated from Harvard University, and subsequently received a medical degree from Boston University.[2]He started a residency at the University of Washington in 1967, receiving his PhD in 1973. He subsequently became an assistant professor, and then a full professor in 1984. He was an adjunct professor in the Medicine and Bioengineering departments. He helped found the North American Vascular Biology Organization.[1]
Schwartz died of COVID-19 in March 2020, aged 78.[1]
