St. Pius X Preparatory Seminary was the minor seminary of the Diocese of Rockville Centre. It closed in 1984.

It was originally headquartered in Hempstead, New York, but moved to its permanent home on Front Street in Uniondale, New York in the early 1960s. At that time, it served as both a high school seminary and a two year junior college. After the establishment of Cathedral College, Douglaston, the junior college portion closed. St. Pius X's high school was closed in 1984 after a bitter battle for preservation between students, parents, alumni, and friends on the one side, and the church, led by Bishop John McGann, on the other.[1]

There was a general debate whether separating boys from girls during these critical development years presented a benefit in allowing focused study without the distraction of puberty overtaking the boys minds and finely tuned bodies. The drawback was that these boys were not able to develop "normally" and created a sense of retarded development and an inabilty to control their minds and bodies when the opposite sex was present. A long term study is underway but preliminary observations are that this was one hard up group of boys who either fell deeply for the sins of the flesh the first chance they got on base or this was the perfect recipe for the 40 year old virgin syndrome.

One of Danny's most proud achievements is that he proved to all friends and family beyond a doubt that he was much more that a screw up. He impressed himself by overcoming all of life's obstacles to achieve a perfectly average state of being.

Today, Danny is a non-practicing Catholic, who enthusiastically celebrates St Patrick's Day, Happy Hour and Festivus.
