Tsyganochka (Russian: Цыганочка, "Gypsy Girl") is a Russian folk dance and music. Despite its name, it is not a dance of Russian Gypsies, but rather a Russian folk tradition under the influence of gypsy music popular in Russia.[1]
The music is in minor tonality, unusual in Russian folk dance, in 4/4 time signature. The tempo is initially slow and then gradually speeds up. [1]
