How is this known? I thought they did not want anyone to now them other than their band names?

The real names of the band members are known, they're not attempting to be that anonymous. However, they do not wish to appear in the publicity without their monster masks, so very few people know what they really look like. 83.102.82.1 10:58, 21 May 2006 (UTC)t his opin[reply]

Ok, thanks for clearing that up.

His middle name is Petteri. This has been mentioned a few times in Finnish media, at least in Ilta-Sanomat tabloid newspaper, and 7 Päivää magazine.

Here's the cover of the 7 Päivää magazine, [1], including his picture, which should be uploaded sometime, (before or after the Eurovision song contest?). Tunes 20:27, 27 May 2006 (UTC)[reply]

hey every body relax. tomy is not Lordi! he is the person who created Lordi. this is not my but hi attitude and has been for years. so why is it that if i klik an link to tomi i see a picture of the moter f***ing LORDI? when it should be tomi?

Let's not upload that cover. We're here to create an informative and useful Encyclopedia; we're not here to screw artists over.—♦♦ SʘʘTHING(Я) 08:53, 25 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well... If this "article" is titled "Tomi Putaansuu" then it should be mainly about his personal life (life outside the band, Lordi), not his professional life (as member of the band). In that respect I see no reason why people shouldn't post picture of him without the mask. In the other hand, if this article should be about her role character, Mr. Lordi, then the article title is misleading, just like the unsigned comment points out. Understood.—♦♦ SʘʘTHING(Я) 08:48, 26 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
It is a matter of respect for the man's wishes; the entire band goes to great effort to keep "unmasked" images of themselves out of the public's reach. To upload that image here would be a slap in the face both to him, and to fans who are seeking information about Mr. Lordi but still want to respect his wishes to remain masked. In respect of both the artist and his fans, the image should not be uploaded. HamatoKameko 07:18, 7 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose. Is known also as Tomi Putaansuu. "Mr Lordi" may become misleading in some cases. Finlandais 10:55, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Comment. Like I said "Mr Lordi" is fictious character, a role. You could say the band is kind of theater performance. If he becomes notable as Tomi Putaansuu, then it should be mentioned in own article. He has clearly stated this himself in various interviews. Monni 11:25, 3 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. Seems like Tomi Putaansuu is the person's real name, and the article should probably reflect that. --ryos 17:10, 8 July 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Result: no move

Separate articles for Mr. Lordi and Tomi Putaansuu in the future

It may become necessary to separate the character articles from the musician articles. After all, the musicians do not play in Lordi as themselves but as fictional monsters that have a rich and complex backstory, as detailed in Mie oon Lordi and elsewhere. I also cleaned up the article, added information - and references. Mstuomel 15:24, 8 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Band Member History

To those editing and reverting the names of the 'original' members of the band: Amen has been in the band from the beginning, and G-Stealer was the original bassist. G-Stealer was replaced in 1999 by Magnum (who was followed by Kalma in '02 and the current bassist, OX, in '05), but he is not one of the original members. question

How do you pronounce the name "Putaansuu"? I need this for translation into Persian wikipedia.--Zereshk (talk) 01:16, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Influences

I'm surprised to see that GWAR aren't mentioned in this category. --24.190.71.206 (talk) 22:49, 3 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]
