Synagogues

There are many more or less prominent/significant synagogues with the name Neve Shalom. Shouldn't this article be under a more specific name? For instance "Neve Shalom synagogue, Istanbul" or "Neve Shalom (Istanbul)...? The page "Neve Shalom" ought to be a disambiguation page pointing to the village in Israel, the synagogues in Istanbul, Altona (Hamburg), Jamaica, etc. -- Olve 01:36, 2 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Although I agree that there are many more synagogues that carry the name Neve Shalom, none of them except the one in Istanbul has an article on it in Wikipedia. Likewise, I would doubt that they have so many events going around them as the Istanbul synagogue, with three terrorist attacks and being the central synagogue, although this would definitely not disqualify them from having articles on themselves. A paragraph that would specify that there are indeed other synagogues that exist in many parts of the world with the same name could be added.
As to the village in Israel, the name of the article of the village is "Oasis of Peace", and the article mentions its equivalents in Hebrew and Arabic. I would be reluctant in having the current Neve Shalom article be renamed as a disambig page. There already is a disambig paragraph at the top of the page.--leandros 10:21, 2 Dec 2004 (UTC)
I am thinking of writing articles about at least the Altona, Germany and Spanish Town, Jamaica synagogues, actually... :) -- Olve 19:03, 2 Dec 2004 (UTC)
That's great then! The Neve Shalom disambig article will be a great oasis of peace! I didn't know that this name was so common!--leandros 19:37, 2 Dec 2004 (UTC)

Islam and antisemitism

Can someone justify what this article has to do with the "religion of Islam"?Bless sins 04:50, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, in this one I will agree with you. The synagogue per se has nothing to do with Islam and Antisemitism, it is the bombings which do. -- Avi 04:52, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orthodox?

Jayjg has just categorised Neve Shalom as an Orthodox Synagogue, but afaik there are no Orthodox communities in Istanbul, and Neve Shalom certainly is not Orthodox for that matter. Turkish synagogues should be listed in Category:Conservative synagogues.

Requested move

Neve Şalom SynagogueNeve Shalom Synagogue – – per WP:COMMONNAME:

An user changed the title Neve Shalom synagogue to Neve Şalom Synagogue only with his own POV. But it's very clear that the common name in English language is Neve Shalom Synagogue.
