2023-24 UK/Canadian tour

A revival of 42nd Street directed by Jonathan Church and choreographed by Bill Deamer played fifteen UK venues in 2023. The production's May 17-June 2 premiere engagement at Curve in Leicester was followed by a June 7-July 2 off-West End engagement at Sadler's Wells Theatre in Islington, these engagements both headlined by Adam Garcia as Julian Mars and Ruthie Henshall as Dorothy Brock.

The production's thirteen remaining 2023 UK dates - beginning with its July 13-22 engagement at Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury - were headlined by Samantha Womack as Dorothy Brock and Michael Praed as Julian Marsh, Praed having in the production's Curve and Sadler's Wells engagements portrayed Pat Denning (which role passed to Oliver Farnworth). All fifteen of the production's 2023 engagements co-starred Nicole-Lily Blaisden as Peggy Sawyer, Les Dennis as Bert Barry, and Sam Lips as Billy Lawlor: the role of Maggie Jones - played at Curve and Sadler's Wells by Josefina Gabrielle - was assumed at Marlowe Theatre by Faye Tozer who retained the role for the production's remaining 2023 UK engagements, the last of which ran October 24-28 at Grand Opera House, Belfast.

Subsequent to a one-off North American engagement which ran December 9 -January 21 2024 at Princess of Wales Theatre in Toronto - with Blaisden, Gabrielle, Garcia, Henshall, and (as Pat Denning) Praed reprising their UK tour roles - the production launched the 2024 leg of its UK tour with a second off-West End engagement, playing the New Wimbledon Theatre March 16-March 23. Blaisden, Dennis, Lips, Praed (as Julian Marsh), Tozer, and Womack reprised their 2023 roles here and at the subsequent March 26-March 30 Edinburgh Playhouse. Currently on further engagement of the production - April 29-May 4 at Birmingham Hippodrome - is scheduled.
