I think we need a disambiguation page for the "Leper King" because there is one in England and one in Cambodia. The article on the Cambodia king is called "Terrace of the Leper King." The article on the English one is called Baldwin IV of Jerusalem. Rjstern (talk) 15:57, 20 March 2016 (UTC)Bob Stern[reply]

Are you trying to establish a connection between Little Miss Raffles and A. J. Raffles? If so, you will need to cite reliable sources that specifically and clearly connect them. All the best, -- Ssilvers (talk) 20:26, 5 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Check this out. Also this. Happy editing! -- Ssilvers (talk) 19:12, 14 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Please, please read WP:RS. Assertions in Wikipedia must be based upon professional published sources. Not webistes like IMDB. Unfortunately, the Film article is so poorly referenced that it may be deleted when people notice the lack of references. -- Ssilvers (talk) 16:07, 4 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is that there are very few authoritative sources available for something this old. I think it's obvious that Keaton based the movie, Battling Butler, on the play, Battling Buttler. I can't find anything online except the references in Wikipedia and in IMDB. I will have to go the library and see if I can find a source. Same with "The Hotel Mouse" and "Little Miss Raffles." I'll try to find another source. Rjstern (talk) 16:22, 4 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Aah: I found a good source in the movie review of Keaton film in the New York Times! Bob Rjstern (talk) 16:44, 4 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, there were plenty of newspapers in those days that reviewed musicals and films. Thanks for digging deeper. Note also that, while IMDB is *not* a reliable source, IBDB *is* a reliable source. -- Ssilvers (talk) 23:15, 4 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Why is that? Rjstern (talk) 23:26, 4 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Because IMDB is user-created and has no editorial board responsible for content, while IBDB does. See this discussion. -- Ssilvers (talk) 23:18, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Now we're getting there! Good work. -- Ssilvers (talk) 23:18, 7 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Done! -- Ssilvers (talk) 20:03, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You're the best! Thanks. Bob Rjstern (talk) 21:44, 30 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The citations should include the titles/headings of the articles cited. Would you please look at your newspaper citations and see what the titles/headings of those news articles were? -- Ssilvers (talk) 21:50, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Did I do it right? Bob Rjstern (talk) 22:04, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, super! Read WP:LQ, which is one of the weirdest parts of the WP Manual of Style. It basically says that, contrary to most style guides, we always put commas *after* the quotation marks, unless we are quoting a complete sentence. -- Ssilvers (talk) 22:12, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If you have the patience to add the names next to the musical numbers, this tells you who sang in which numbers: https://www.ibdb.com/broadway-production/along-fifth-avenue-2056#OpeningNightCast -- Ssilvers (talk) 22:26, 1 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Lehman Engel, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Dean Jones.

(Opt-out instructions.) --DPL bot (talk) 06:08, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Fixed. Rjstern (talk) 14:27, 7 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hank Ladd moved to draftspace

An article you recently created, Hank Ladd, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three, to be safe. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 14:24, 20 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:This Is The Army Sheet Music.jpg

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:This Is The Army Sheet Music.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described in section F6 of the criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. — Ирука13 04:54, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the clear explanation. I have completely changed the rationale. Please Reply and let me know if I did it correctly. Then I'll check all my other pages. Bob Rjstern (talk) 13:26, 6 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You broke templates. I returned the file description page to its whole state. Please read this guide attentively again and re-format the page. — Ирука13 00:54, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I think I fixed it. Please let me know if it looks OK now. Thanks for your help. Bob Rjstern (talk) 17:08, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Added license template (WP:NFCC#10b).
The description template should contain information about the publisher: who, where, when (WP:NFCC#10a). Wikipedia should contain information that was published somewhere earlier (WP:NFCC#4). — Ирука13 02:23, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK - I've added the copyright date and publisher. How does it look? Bob Rjstern (talk) 20:02, 8 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In the history of edits of the file after my edit, there is not one of yours. — Ирука13 01:36, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ирука: I forgot to sign in that time. So it went in under anonymous. I've made additional changes, so you should be able to see all my edits now. Please let me know if everything looks OK. Bob Rjstern (talk) 17:49, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
After my edit, only three edits of the bots. — Ирука13 04:44, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know what the problem is, but can't you just go to the current version and see if everything now looks OK? Bob Rjstern (talk) 21:29, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
The problem was that at some point you downloaded a different version and started working on it without telling me about it. — Ирука13 03:57, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ирука: I used the new template on an older article. Here's the link: File:Along Fifth Avenue.jpg - Wikipedia. Let me know if it looks OK and I'll continue fixing up the older articles. Thanks for your help, Bob Rjstern (talk) 15:42, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Not ok. 1. You have lost license. 2. Replaced the template intended for book covers with a generic one; it is not clear why. — Ирука13 18:18, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Now I'm really confused. I thought I made Along Fifth Avenue look like what we did on This Is The Army? Is there something different? Bob Rjstern (talk) 18:54, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Technically, you can frame it that way, yes. But the template {{Non-free use rationale book cover}} fills in part of the columns automatically. — Ирука13 19:17, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK - I added template Non-free use rationale book cover to This Is The Army. Does it look OK? Bob Rjstern (talk) 19:48, 12 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I uploaded a new image with fewer pixels to meet the guidelines, but I didn't see how to remove this prior image. Can you remove it, or tell me how to remove it? Thanks, Bob Rjstern (talk) 21:26, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Corrected the newly loaded version. It's okay now.
It is not necessary to reduce the images yourself, this is done automatically by the bot.
And all unused non-free files are deleted after 7 days, no further action is required on your part. — Ирука13 03:55, 11 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
