Ways to improve Rabindra Jayanti

Hi, I'm Crystallizedcarbon. SWASTIK 25, thanks for creating Rabindra Jayanti!

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Bengali Brahmins, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages English and Bengali (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, List of international cricket centuries by Kane Williamson. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Kane Williamson. Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Kane Williamson – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. —SpacemanSpiff 04:59, 14 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Suggestion regarding behaviour with other users

Hey man, happy new year and hope you're doing well. Just wanted to say that I just saw your recent interaction with Goals and I do agree with you, you can do whatever you want with your talk page (although I do suggest keeping the stuff or at least archiving it), but I would like to see some more kind in your responses instead of appearing abrasive. Not saying that is what you are but that is kinda how you come off. Like with goals, you could have just said "This is my talk page. I have every right to remove what I don't like. Thank you." or something. Just a suggestion as I don't want you to get in trouble in the future. Cheers. --ArsenalFan700 (talk) 20:11, 6 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

A bit of friendly advice

Hi Swastik, I've noticed you've found yourself in a bit of trouble recently. Can I give you a little bit of advice? It would be a shame if you get kicked from Wikipedia, because I can see you are generally trying to do the right thing. Hopefully you will take the two week break, concentrate on your study and come back better than ever. If it is possible for you to find a copy, I suggest you read the book "The Power of Passion" by Justin Langer. It is a great book about his recovery from "rock bottom" in his career. If you can find it I am sure you will enjoy it. AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 13:09, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Athomeinkobe: Will definitely try. And thanks a lot for your friendly advice. Swastik Chakraborty (User talk) 15:41, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know if ProudBengali is your another account or not. Or one of your WikiEnemy is posing it as you. We can't decide it unless CU test is done. Still I will advise you to not create any alternative account during your block period. Either you make valid unblock request or keep quite for 2 weeks. Block evasion will only lead you to get blocked permanently. So it is better to get blocked for 2 weeks than getting blocked permanently. I think you are useful editor as far as sports related articles are concerned, so behave like mature editor and take your blocks positively and learn from it. I will again advise you to keep calm for 2 weeks, don't even log in if you don't want to do unblock request. Take my advise seriously. Don't create any other account. I am your well-wisher.--Human3015 It will rain  20:05, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Human3015: I know that you are my well-wisher. But frankly speaking, I'm not aware of the conspiracy going around against me for the last 2 days. Anyway, thanks a lot for your kind behaviour. See you after 2 weeks. Swastik Chakraborty (User talk) 20:10, 19 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Embarrassing

Well, this is really embarrassing! What can I do if any other users edit the pages that I've created or have interest in? That's also my fault??? Now, I'm losing all sorts of hope from the administration system of Wikipedia. And I must say, this User:GiantSnowman is a great conspirator. Isn't it very astonishing to re-block a user thrice for doing nothing? Now, I have been blocked for infinite amount of time. This is simply nothing more than the misuse of power. — Swastik Chakraborty (User talk) 05:10, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'm afraid that on the basis of the duck test, this is something of a slam dunk. First came ProudBengali. From your profile, we know that you are Bengali, and the first contribution of that account is to give this account a Barnstar; an unusual first action to say the least. Edit summaries are rarely provided, but where they are, they are to the point "Added info", "Modified". In comparison, this account also rarely uses edit summaries, and those that are used include "Corrected", "Modified", and "Added info". Your block was extended, and you were given a warning against further socking. Then ESPN Cricket n Football popped up. Once again, the username mirrors your interests, and the edits are on many of the pages that you regularly edit, or created. The summaries, again, are of the fashion "modified", "corrected", "updated". If you are really insistent that these weren't you, you could see if a friendly CheckUser would look into it, but something tells me that would just get more embarrassing for you. Harrias talk 07:21, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Harrias: If any user's edits reflect my choices or edit summaries as you have stated above, then what can I do? What are my faults then? Anyway, can you please ask a CheckUser on behalf of me to investigate it? — Swastik Chakraborty (User talk) 10:23, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
An indefinite block is not a 'forever' block - you have clearly been evading your block using new accounts, which is not allowed. You have been warned about socking before, but you ignored the warnings. I suggest you adhere to WP:OFFER - come back in 6 months time and ask for an unblock. GiantSnowman 12:43, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@GiantSnowman: I will be obliged to you if you reduce my block to 1 month. You can even use CheckUser to find out if User:ESPN Cricket n Football had any link with my account or not. I am really suffering for the things that I haven't done. — Swastik Chakraborty (User talk) 12:58, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
You claim that ESPN Cricket n Football is not you - but what about ProudBengali? GiantSnowman 13:14, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
ProudBengali is not me as well. You may not believe me but it is the truth. Now, what can I do if someone from nowhere suddenly award me a barnstar and add autoconfirmed user rights on my user page? You decide! I even couldn't revert ProudBengali's edits on my user pages as I was then blocked by you. — Swastik Chakraborty (User talk) 13:31, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
For those interested, there is a sockpuppet investigation open here: Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations/SWASTIK 25. Harrias talk 19:09, 25 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
When will be the outcome of this investigation declared? — Swastik Chakraborty (User talk) 06:08, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
As far as I understand it, the investigation has closed and found that ProudBengali was you, but it is unlikely that "•ESPN Cricket n Football" is you. Perhaps the investigator Bbb23 can confirm that I have understood correctly? AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 06:32, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Unblock request

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

SWASTIK 25 (block logactive blocksglobal blockscontribsdeleted contribsfilter logcreation logchange block settingsunblockcheckuser (log))

Request reason:

Though it's true that I was engaged in an edit war with User:GoalsGalore and was blocked for a week for that, it seems to me that my account was hacked multiple times after that; I didn't make any of the edits I was blocked for. — Swastik Chakraborty (User talk) 06:18, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

While your original block was for edit warring, your block since then has been for abusing multiple accounts. The sockpuppet investigation found that there was no technical distinction between yourself and ProudBengali. Your claim that your account was hacked is a new excuse, seemingly made now that your other excuses have failed. As GiantSnowman says above, I would recommend taking this opportunity for a Wikibreak, and appeal against this again in a few months time, demonstrating that you:

  1. understand what you have been blocked for,
  2. will not continue to cause damage or disruption, and
  3. will make useful contributions instead.

Please read the guide to appealing blocks for more information. Harrias talk 07:30, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

@Harrias: I'm not here to give any lame excuses. And if your reason is considered, then also the extent of my block would be of 2 weeks as stated earlier. So, why am I blocked for indefinite time? Can you explain this? — Swastik Chakraborty (User talk) 07:53, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Harrias, does the fact that the Checkuser suggests he did not operate the most recent ESPN account not go in his favour? (I realize the excuses and aspersions don't help) AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 08:44, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
It does, but thus far through the process, SWASTIK 25 has not faced up to his actions, instead hiding behind a string of excuses, and attacks on the blocking administrator. Obviously, I would have no problem at all if GiantSnowman reconsidered the block length and shortened it, but at the moment I do not see sufficient grounds to unblock. Harrias talk 11:11, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Harrias and Athomeinkobe: - the SPI states that 'SWASTIK 25 and ProudBengali are Technically indistinguishable' - i.e. it is the same account. So SWASTIK 25 has not only been confirmed to have evaded his block, but he has constantly lied about it. As for ESPN Cricket n Football - well, let's just say I still strongly suspect it to be the same editor. Either way, I think the indef should remain given his conduct, his lies, and his general crummy behavior. GiantSnowman 11:56, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
As I've thought, only misuse of administrative powers. And User:GiantSnowman, you may not unblock me, but don't even dare to decide about my behaviour and that I've lied. I've misbehaved only with those who deserves it & have stated what is true. I know my comments would lead to permanent blocking of my account. You've already done what you've liked with my account. So, now I really don't bother. — Swastik Chakraborty (User talk) 12:22, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  1. "I've misbehaved only with those who deserves it" -- That's just an absurd statement. Obviously if you know you were misbehaving, then you know that there is no justification for it. Misbehavior is misbehavior. There is no justification for it and a person with integrity should apologize, cop to the transgression, and promise not to commit it again, not attempt to defend it. Integrity is the only thing you get to take to the grave with you.
  2. Re: "misuse of administrative powers", the CheckUser, who is impartial to this case, determined that there is no technical difference between you and ProudBengali. Even if you were being honest that you personally did not create that sock account, that would mean you engaged in meatpuppetry, which is also a violation of our policies. There has been no misuse of administrative powers.
  3. Your comments didn't lead to your indef. The sockpuppetry/meatpuppetry you engaged in did.
  4. An indefinite block does not mean forever, it means for the foreseeable future. If you were to cool it with the personal attacks and admit fully to your involvement in the creation of ProudBengali, and map a plan for what you would do differently, it's conceivable that you might find some sympathy. I've seen several first-time sockpuppet operators unblocked. But nobody wants to deal with a problematic editor who lies in addition to being disruptive. Integrity. Point #1.
  5. Until you remedy this issue, you, the person behind the SWASTIK 25 account, are not welcome to edit at Wikipedia. If any future edits can be attributed to you while this account is blocked, anything you create, add, change, etc. can be reverted by any user, with no consideration for whether it was an improvement or not.
  6. If your perception of pride prevents you from admitting fault, you can always take the standard offer, which allows you to request an unblock if you don't edit for 6 months. But any edit that can be attributed to you will reset the clock. And remember point #5. Good luck. Cyphoidbomb (talk) 16:21, 26 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I haven't looked to much into this to form an opinion, but SWASTIK 25 if you say that your account was used by someone else to make disruptive edits (which may be true or not I have no idea) in all likeliness that will probably only result in a block being upheld since it means your account could be compromised. See here and respective pages for more detail. Inter&anthro (talk) 04:31, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
"Hacking" and compromised accounts is not an issue here, because he has admitted to the edit warring which brought the initial block. The (well-founded) allegation is that Swastik created other accounts to continue editing after this account was blocked. AtHomeIn神戸 (talk) 04:37, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Athomeinkobe Sorry, in the editor's unblock request they said "...it seems to me that my account was hacked multiple times after that; I didn't make any of the edits I was blocked for..." so I might have interpreted that comment in a wrong way. Inter&anthro (talk) 04:46, 27 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
  • If you want to take my advise, then just accept that ProudBengali is your alternative account and promise that you will not do this again. CU has confirmed that its your account so whatever you tell against ProudBengali, no one will believe you, so simply accept that its your account. ProudBengali has not done much mainspace edits, or not involved in content dispute in which your were involved, you are blocked for evading your block. Do not argue over ProudBengali, just accept that its your account. There will not be any use of arguments. After accepting ProudBengali as your alternative account, you can ask for 1 or 2 month block instead of permanent block. This is very useful advice, take it or leave it.--Human3015 I'm up all night to get lucky  16:30, 29 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Human3015: Okay, I accept your advise as you are my well wisher. For the sake of my future in Wikipedia, I'm accepting (though it's not true) that ProudBengali is my account. But, I think it will be of no use, as a group of conspirators want to prove me a liar. Just take a look at the various conversations regarding my account while I was away for some days. So, I've utterly left all sorts of hope. — Swastik Chakraborty (User talk) 17:22, 29 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I just want to complete my advice. You have to accept that ProudBengali is your account without any question mark, and without blaming any other user. You should apologize for your all deeds and attacks on other users. And assure that you will not do such act in future. You can read WP:NOTTHEM. Just follow my advice, otherwise you will not able to edit Wikipedia for rest of your life. You are young with 19 year old, you still have more than 50 years of life left inside in you. If you don't want to be blocked for 50 years, you have to follow my adivce strictly.--Human3015 I'm up all night to get lucky  17:41, 29 January 2016 (UTC)[reply]
