Hello admin. Please take a look at Iranian peoples (which is a FA) where User:Babakexorramdin is destroying the quality of this Featured Article by inserting pseudo-scientific and unsourced POV, such as the claim that Uzbek people are an "Iranian people" (Uzbeks are a Turkic people as one can see in the respective article). I inserted an "accuracy is disputed" tag into the section, but he removed the tag and added more POV. If he continues his bias, the article will lose its FA status.

  • Well, it looks like he has been making constructive edits over there. I don't really have the expertise to determine, though. It's been a week since the article has been updated by this editor. I'll keep it on my watchlist and see what happens - Alison 22:14, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

User:216.83.121.194

You did a good thing by blocking that "sick, racist, WWE/Bratz hating shrew", "(mockingly) WWE owns "51%" of Bratz, Mims was the theme song of WrestleMania 23". Ban that racist user, before he/she evades another block.--68.44.84.185 03:32, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nasibi article

I wrote to you that User:Woneders_land keeps reversing edits in Nasibi article without discussing my points in the disscusion page , and you asked me to bring the matter to his talk page first but he did not respond and he reversed the edits again. THANK YOU . Dy yol 08:46, 9 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey :)

Saw you on recent changes. Hope the holiday's going well! Much love, ~ Riana 13:30, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi there! Have very little on-line time here. In Cork city right now, public terminal. Weather is crap & wish I was back in sunny Cali. Wedding on Saturday, should be fun! Catch yiz later & miss you all :) - Alison 13:32, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, miss you too! :) Gold♥ 13:44, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the call just now :) - Alison 22:24, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Me New !!

Hi Alison! I'm a new user. I joined with the intention of making considerable contributions, but I find that most of the articles in my areas of interest are already in pretty good state, and I don't have much to add contentwise. So what I want to do now is stuff like reverting vandalism, helping maintain NPOV, mediating disputes, welcoming new users etc. You seem to have got a plethora of awards for this kind of work; can u please help me start out ? Regards -- Amit 22:00, 10 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Protection

Thanks for protecting the Shi'a Islam template. The same guy is constantly vandalizing this one. Can you protect it please? He won't stop.KlakSonnTalk 15:30, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Already protected. - thanks, Riana! - Alison 22:24, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The above named arbitration case has closed. All involved parties are granted an amnesty over the edit-warring that had been ongoing but has given the administrators the ability to sanction anyone who begins disruptive editing again.

You may view the full case decision at the case page.

Sockpuppet

I have discovered an apparent sockpuppet, however he is not conducting mutiple edits, so I'm not sure if I can use WP:SOCK. However, I noticed that User talk:BS 0013 redirects to User talk:BS 13. Are they the same? And should something be done? Thanks Tiggerjay 17:38, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Sorry for the delay in replying. The editor above isn't socking but has created a redirect to another page in talk space. It's a bit unorthodox, but I don't think there's anything in the rules against it. If they don't like their username, they could change it. But their is only one account at work here. Have you tried discussing it with them? - Alison 00:21, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hey Alison

Just a quick note to tell you I've taken the design of your talk header for my talk page. Cheers; Rlest 10:05, 17 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome back

I hope yeh enjoyed yer holiday. Taken any good photos? Rklawton 04:26, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Thanks :) I have a handful of my amateurish pics to upload, mostly of towns and buildings. The weather was abyssmal, though, and the whole place wasn't really photogenic, though. Ah well, I should be somewhere more interesting in a month or so and will bring the camera along - Alison 04:30, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, nice to see you back safe :) July can be rainy. GH 10:17, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
The weather sucks in England too at the minute; it's supposed to be summer! Welcome back, anyway! --Deskana (talk) 11:58, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Welcome back Ali, hope you enjoyed yourself despite the cack weather. At least you weren't working (like the rest of us!)... The Rambling Man 12:24, 19 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unlock Special Servies Group article

Hi can you please unlock Special Services Group article.

I need to add more information to that article to make it better but I can't since you have it locked. Mercenary2k 07:31, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Unprotected - reduced to semi-prot. If the revert-war starts up again, it'll go back on. I note that there has been no updates on the talk page in 6 weeks since my last message - Alison 23:16, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

AN/I

RFPP

Nice to see you there. It was backlogged the other day. However, I know you have a great reputation at RFPP, so we won't have to worry about a backlog at that page anymore. :) Acalamari 23:04, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • It's my favourite haunt :) Thanks for the welcome-back, BTW. Missed you guys. And hey - I see my pre-emptive congrats were not in vain. Belated welcome to the team! - Alison 23:10, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • Ah, so you've seen my logs? I had some trouble with protection timers at first, but Ryan helped me with that. RFPP and CAT:TEMP are the places I'm most active at with the administrator tools. I'm doing fine, no problems at all. :) Thanks for everything. Acalamari 23:15, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

Thank you for semi-protecting those two pages I posted to admin intervention of vandalism. Much appreciated. --Renrenren 23:09, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • No problem. Believe it or not, I protected them as a result of that AIV report and noticed that the editor had just been moving IP addresses to repeatedly post their BLP stuff. It's set at two weeks right now but get back to me if you need it extended or if there are any further problems - Alison 23:12, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

New toy

So, when you get your crappy new bit of plastic which is supposed to be a phone, please let me know so you can send it to me absolutely immediately without hesitation and I'll tell you how I get on with it. Please?! The Rambling Man 23:16, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Heh!! Still waiting on the crappy plastic but we're told it'll be in our hot li'l hands in about two weeks. One of the guys at work has one and is flashing it around. Had some bits of one on my desk here for months but, sadly, it never actually did anything! - Alison 23:32, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
    • I don't want to know that you had one (or bits of it) on your desk! Poo. So, I've heard nothing negative, so I can't bloody well wait. So anyway, hope you had a good jaunt back east to the wet and windy shores of your native land. Take care... The Rambling Man 23:36, 20 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
      • Some people have complained that HSDPA isn't supported, only EDGE. Oh hey, and you're in the UK, too. Bummer! I heard a rumour (nothing insider) that they were pushing for a provider across the pond. Fingers crossed :) - Alison 23:46, 20 July 2007 (UTC) (BTW, the rain never let up. Not for a single day!)[reply]

Thank You

Thank you for taking care of the Safalra User page so quickly. I was not sure how to go about it, since reporting the IP did not work. I know that editing someone else's user page is a big no-no, so I did not wish to do that, even if it was to remove that icky vandalism. If there is an easier way for me to report things like that (i.e. items that I'd prefer to not edit (user pages) or locked articles) please let me know!

Have a great day Alison! :) ArielGold (talk)

  • Well, you did the absolute right thing in reporting them and you chose the correct forum in which to report it. Well done and thanks :) You might want to check out Wikipedia:Template messages/User talk namespace as it's perfectly appropriate for you to warn that user yourself for their blatant userpage vandalism. In this case, {{uw-upv3}} would be the one to use. And hey - welcome back after your long break, fellow-medical-editor :) - Alison 07:19, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you

Thank you for your kind comments about my recent successful RfA! I appreciate it... and the category you stuck on my user page too! - Philippe | Talk 07:30, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well deserved it was too :) BTW, it's not just a category. Take a look at the icon above the line, on the right - Alison 07:32, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
I *love* these shiny new gadgets! Every time I turn around, it's something new and fun. Thanks!! - Philippe | Talk 07:34, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Yayy for gadgets (and shiny new buttons!) :) - Alison 07:36, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

*Giggle*

I guess I did sort of take some time away from here, didn't I? I hadn't realized it was nearly two years, wow! (For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to continue my discussion with you under my original "Thank You" header.) As for the reporting template, where would I put that ({uw-upv3}) comment? Place it on the person's talk page? Sorry, I have never reported someone before, I mostly just do spelling/grammatical mistake edits! When I pasted that command, it was a warning, not a report to an Admin. (which is why I changed it to () so it would show up here.) Sorry for being a pain, I'd just like to know how to get it right :D ArielGold (talk)

Two years? Wow! :) And yes, place the template on the user's talk page and maybe date it, too. You should also use the 'subst' command, like so;
==July 2007==

{{subst:uw-upv3|User:Alison}} - ~~~~

... should produce something like this;

July 2007

Please stop. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to User:Alison, you will be blocked from editing. - Alison 08:28, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

... things have changed a bit since you were here last :) I keep my own page of tips and tricks like this so I can copy and paste what I need, and explanations are always to-hand. Regards reporting; if the editor in question keeps on going past your final warning (level 3 or 4), report them to Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism and an admin will evaluate your request and take the necessary action. The trick to reporting there is to use {{vandal}}, so that;

*{{vandal|Alison}} is being an idiot again. Please block her now! - ~~~~

... will produce something like this;

There's a guide to all this here.

BTW, you're so not being a pain, so do ask away! We need more vandalism fighters like you - Alison 08:28, 21 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Me again :)

Okay, I had one of those pages already on my watch list, but your /work page is helpful! Thanks! (I hesitate to "warn" people on their talk pages, especially those who are just IPs, because I don't want to instigate them any further, it is quieter to just revert their damage.)

How can I answer you in the original talk post I make, instead of adding another header to reply? (Just to keep your page clean)

Also, if someone vandalized a user's page (like original request you fixed for me) are non-admin users allowed to revert them? I know that editing someone's user page is not something anyone should do, so that's why I went to the Admin page.

I was a +sysop (Admin) on Microsoft Gaming Zone for years and years, but there was no script, it was all done from a special "tool window" that just let you push buttons, which is why this stuff confuses me, it is a lot of script stuff that I'm completely unfamiliar with.

Also, what is RfA? :)
