NYC Wikipedia Meetup Sunday, March 21

New York City Meetup

Next: Sunday March 21st, Columbia University area
Last: 11/15/2009
This box: view  talk  edit

In the afternoon, we will hold a session dedicated to meta:Wikimedia New York City activities, review the recent Wikipedia Day NYC, plan for the next stages of projects like Wikipedia at the Library and Lights Camera Wiki, and hold salon-style group discussions on Wikipedia and the other Wikimedia projects, for example User:ScienceApologist will present on "climate change, alternative medicine, UFOs and Transcendental Meditation" (see the November meeting's minutes).

In the evening, we'll share dinner and chat at a local restaurant, and generally enjoy ourselves and kick back. And if the weather is good, we'll have a star party with the telescopes on the roof of Pupin Hall!

You can add or remove your name from the New York City Meetups invite list at Wikipedia:Meetup/NYC/Invite list.

To keep up-to-date on local events, you can also join our mailing list.

Please

Please I need your help. I am new to Wikipedia, so I do not know how these things really work, but recently I tried to edit a page and then it was automatically undid by you. The problem is that many people have tried to change that page, however, a particular user Avala constantly brings back the wrong infromation, no matter how many times other users have tried to tell him that. The page in question is "Visa requirements for serbian citizen". Can you please tell me what I can do about this issue?

Thank you, Bojan

Re: Pyungkang Cheil Presbyterian Church

Hi NHRHS2010, I attend Pyungkang Cheil Presbyterian Church. Just want to let you know there is a Pyungkang Cheil Presbyterian Church wiki page. Can your Yeoju cave picture be used for this page? Please enjoy the article.

Thanks and God bless!

You are now a Reviewer

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, will be commencing a two-month trial at approximately 23:00, 2010 June 15 (UTC).

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under flagged protection. Flagged protection is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 00:38, 16 June 2010 (UTC) [reply]

Hi, I would like your help on the Seoul and South Korea pages. User:Jyusin keeps deleting the link to Pyungkang Cheil Presbyterian Church on these 2 pages. Please take a look at the history pages of these articles.

I find the links helpful as it informs readers about a well-known Presbyterian church in Seoul and South Korea.

Can you help to protect this link from deletion by User:Jyusin?

Thanks and God bless!

Now, why would you revert my edit, when you could have taken out the "offensive" part and left the changes that were accurate and relevant? Oh, that would have required too much responsibility and "effort" I suppose. 72.189.108.185 (talk) 15:03, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Taking the other side, why wouldn't you just change the content instead of inserting a comment about it and why be surprised when your edit is removed given you already have a strong opinion about this site? DMacks (talk) 15:13, 11 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

Thanks for the anti-vandalism barnstar. I was happy to help. Murjax (talk) 20:04, 17 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please explain why you have reverted this and other articles when they so clearly fail WP:MUSIC. 69.181.249.92 (talk) 19:33, 22 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

An article that you have been involved in editing, The Flag of Punishment, has been listed for deletion. If you are interested in the deletion discussion, please participate by adding your comments at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/The Flag of Punishment. Thank you.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Drmies (talk) 02:27, 24 August 2010 (UTC) [reply]

paramore pressue edit

the reason i deleted it is because the section about the music video is completely false and this can be found with about 20 seconds of research. there are no citations on it. Please remove this FALSE information. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 74.177.226.113 (talk) 20:58, 27 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
For reverting the 'vandalism' on my user talk before the helpers in the IRC channel that had advanced notice I was going to do it. -- Crazysane (T/C\D) 15:53, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • That revert you did to User:76.160.115.234 was actually a warning system/talk page test for IP users, to see what they see per a discussion we were having in IRC. You actually beat the other people in IRC to the revert - and they had advanced notice. Keep up the great work! -- Crazysane (T/C\D) 15:53, 2 September 2010 (UTC)[reply]
