Kobe Bryant is only 42 KB of readable prose. See WP:SIZE and WP:SPLITTING.--TonyTheTiger (t/c/bio/WP:CHICAGO/WP:LOTM) 02:24, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks -- How does that compare to the other articles I mentioned? My point is there seems to be alot of fluff that can be removed to make it a more potent article. Zodiiak (talk) 04:37, 5 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Template:Infobox NBAretired

[edit]

Hey, thanks for the heads up. First, just to let you know, the template history didn't record a null edit I made to explain in the edit summary that I'd looked at Charles Oakley--where the error was first reported--and saw no problem caused by the revised coding (clearly I need to learn how to do a null edit properly!) I subsequently looked at several other articles with the template and observed no problem (this is before your recent reversion). Second, two questions:

(1) Did you, as Chris suggested, purge your cache and reload Michael Jordan to see if the problem persisted? (2) If you did and it did, I wonder if this is an issue that only appears with certain browsers. I'm running Safari on a Mac; just wondering what you're using.

Best, Dan.—DCGeist (talk) 01:50, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, Dan. I just reverted the edit and cleared my cache. Unfortunately, the issue is still occuring for me. I'm running the latest Windows Explorer. Argh, really strange issue. Zodiiak (talk) 01:59, 19 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Please sincerely comment. :D -- [[SRE.K.A.L.|L.A.K.ERS]]call me Keith 05:19, 23 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Using 'subst' in warning templates

[edit]

Thank you for helping fight vandalism by reverting and warning users when necessary. Please remember to use 'subst' in the templated warnings (e.g. {{subst:uw-vandalism2|Article}} ). -- Alexf(talk) 18:36, 30 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Got it, thanks! Zodiiak (talk) 04:08, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Phoney "Records"

[edit]

Do you not understand that the section on LeBron James and having numerous youngest milestones is not wikipediaworthy or even noteworthy outside of wikipedia. Look up an ESPN Sports Almanac and see the page that shows youngest player to certain milestones. There isn't one. Why not take it the extra step and start putting other non records up on wikipedia, like Most points scored on a specific game or a specific month. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Smartestmanonearth (talkcontribs) 04:08, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Who decides what wikipedia or note worthy is? As I recall, that article was specifically created to house fancruft. NBA articles on Wikipedia are littered with this type of material -- why so much focus on one? Zodiiak (talk) 14:34, 11 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:Barkley 1988 SI Cover.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Barkley 1988 SI Cover.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mosmof (talk) 14:35, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, thanks for the message on my talk page, and for the IFD link. Having read the discussion, I still think the image fails to meet WP:NFCC#8, and it looks like the context of the image use has changed since the discussion. With that said, I think a FFD discussion is more appropriate than a semi-speedy tag, so I will remove the dispute tag, and will start a deletion discussion. --Mosmof (talk) 19:39, 26 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Discussion at WikiProject New Jersey

[edit]

Hi, Zodiiak, User:Nightscream and I had a disagreement over certain parts of NJ municipality articles; because the discussion could potentially affect hundreds of articles, we decided to bring the discussion to WikiProject New Jersey. I would value your input in the discussion, which you can find here. Thanks, A Stop at Willoughby (talk) 15:14, 31 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Dwyane Wade

[edit]

I notice that this article is vandalized frequently, considerably more than most NBA-related articles that are not under some level of protection. Articles that I would consider of similar type include Kobe Bryant and LeBron James, both of which I believe are semi-protected. Perhaps we should request semi-protection?--Hoops gza (talk) 17:32, 14 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on OssaTron requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ospalh (talk) 15:25, 23 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You are now a Reviewer

[edit]

Hello. Your account has been granted the "reviewer" userright, allowing you to review other users' edits on certain flagged pages. Pending changes, also known as flagged protection, is currently undergoing a two-month trial scheduled to end 15 August 2010.

Reviewers can review edits made by users who are not autoconfirmed to articles placed under pending changes. Pending changes is applied to only a small number of articles, similarly to how semi-protection is applied but in a more controlled way for the trial. The list of articles with pending changes awaiting review is located at Special:OldReviewedPages.

When reviewing, edits should be accepted if they are not obvious vandalism or BLP violations, and not clearly problematic in light of the reason given for protection (see Wikipedia:Reviewing process). More detailed documentation and guidelines can be found here.

If you do not want this userright, you may ask any administrator to remove it for you at any time. Courcelles (talk) 18:27, 17 June 2010 (UTC)[reply]
