Zárate es una ciudad en el noreste de la Template:Provincia de Buenos Aires, Argentina. Se encuentra en la orilla occidental de la Paraná River, 90 km (56 mi) de Buenos Aires. Su población en 2001 census [INDEC] fue de 101,271 habitantes. Es la ciudad principal y la única ciudad en el partido con el mismo nombre.
Zárate y Campana, Buenos Aires, Argentina son los puntos principales de una importante región industrial. La ciudad está situada en un extremo del puente brazo largo, que une Buenos Aires con la provincia de Entre Ríos, Buenos Aires, Argentina y permite la comunicación con la Argentine Mesopotamia y de allí a Brasil y Uruguay.
La ciudad fue fundada el 19 de marzo de 1854.
