Wikipedia:Requested moves/Technical requests
Appearance
If you are unable to complete a move for technical reasons, you can request technical help below. This is the correct method if you tried to move a page, but you got an error message saying something like "You do not have permission to move this page, for the following reasons:..." or "The/This page could not be moved, for the following reason:..."
If you are here because you want an admin to approve of your new article or your proposed page move, you are in the wrong place.

This will automatically insert a bullet and include your signature. Please do not edit the article's talk page.{{subst:RMassist|current page title|new title|reason=edit summary for the move}}
the - If you object to a proposal listed in the uncontroversial technical requests section, please move the request to the Contested technical requests section, append a note on the request elaborating on why, and sign with ~~~~. Consider pinging the requester to let them know about the objection.
- If your technical request is contested, or if a contested request is left untouched without reply, create a requested move on the article talk and remove the request from the section here. The fastest and easiest way is to click the "discuss" button at the request, save the talk page, and remove the entry on this page.

Uncontroversial technical requests
- Talk:Renault Megane E-Tech → Talk:Renault Megane E-Tech Electric (move · discuss) – This is a paired request. The article Talk page ended up at a different title than the article itself, following an RM that was closed on 12 April 2023. Please check the suggestion. — BarrelProof (talk) 18:52, 14 April 2023 (UTC)

- Ctibor (name) → Ctibor (currently a redirect instead to Ctiboř) (move · discuss) – There is no reason for Ctibor to be just a redirect to a less frequented page. Solved by a hatnote. FromCzech (talk) 05:56, 14 April 2023 (UTC)
- ANOVA gauge R&R → ANOVA Gage R&R (currently a redirect back to ANOVA gauge R&R) (move · discuss) – This is a Six Sigma study that is referred to as "Gage R&R" in all Six Sigma technical documents and other pages, as well as statistical tools like Minitab that use the method, but the Wikipedia page calls it "gauge R&R". I've added a citation and fixed the page, but the title still needs to be fixed. Bayou Tapestry (talk) 15:29, 14 April 2023 (UTC)
- Noting Talk:ANOVA_gauge_R&R#Replicability_and_Reproducability_problems_with_gauge_R&R, not sure that counts as discussion of the title though. -Kj cheetham (talk) 15:44, 14 April 2023 (UTC)
- Good find - one of the editors there does mention the whole “gage” vs. “gauge” issue there (they say it should be “gage”). Six Sigma literature always refers to it as capital-G “Gage R&R” so the title should definitely be corrected, especially given this is the first page that comes up when looking for info on this topic.
- As an aside, I agree with that other editor that the page is pretty inadequate - I’m familiar with the study method so maybe I should take a crack at fixing the article. Bayou Tapestry (talk) 17:49, 14 April 2023 (UTC)
- Whilst I'd tend to agree with gage, my first thought was it should be lower case based on WP:TITLEFORMAT. Depends more on the WP:COMMONNAME than the "official" name though really. -Kj cheetham (talk) 17:59, 14 April 2023 (UTC)
- Given Gauge (instrument), I wonder if this is actually a WP:PCM and needs a proper WP:RM rather than just a technical move. Though I personally think it should be "gage" for this specific article title. -Kj cheetham (talk) 18:02, 14 April 2023 (UTC)
- The online resources for Six Sigma use uppercase in all cases, but there are some sources which use a mix of lowercase/undercase so I could see that part potentially being contentious (like this textbook, uses both). Given it is a title of a type of study and not the generic measurement instrument called a gage/gauge, I'd default to capital-G, but might be worth having the discussion. I don't think "gage" vs. "gauge" is contentious though, it should be "gage". Bayou Tapestry (talk) 18:46, 14 April 2023 (UTC)

- Zvërnec Island → Zvërnec Islands (currently a redirect back to Zvërnec Island) (move · discuss) – Based on satellite imagery, Zvërnec has two islands, a larger one where the monastery is located and a smaller adjoining island next to it. - Yeah I tend to agree - wouldn't this just refer to the island with the famous monastery on it? Google Maps does say "islands" but Google Maps citations are not verifiable and generally can't be used as a source. This Atlas Obscura article calls it "islands" but it says in the article they just got that from Google Maps too so. Other articles use "island". Bayou Tapestry (talk) 18:57, 14 April 2023 (UTC)
- The smaller island is locally known as Karakonjisht but it hasn't been adopted in geography textbooks as an individual island. We have a similar example with Ksamil islands which are named in plural. Since the small island is part of the same lagoon, it would be logical to be included as a pair of islands for it being meters away from the larger island of Zvërnec. - It was created at lower case in 2011, moved to upper case in 2014, and back to lower case in 2019. This probably needs a RM. Station1 (talk) 17:23, 14 April 2023 (UTC)
- Comment - The lower case title in the screen illustration is just a font choice and not the true title. Just like the title of this book is not PET SEMETARY. ---DOOMSDAYER520 (TALK|CONTRIBS) 21:03, 14 April 2023 (UTC)
- Probably true, but since it's already been moved and reverted once and discussed on the talk page, it's probably best to finally settle it through a full discussion. Station1 (talk) 21:28, 14 April 2023 (UTC)
