The result was redirect‎ to Draft:Hailey Welch. (non-admin closure) This is a version of an article that was already in the draftspace and submitted via AfC. I created an article on this subject first, in the draft space, and then submitted it to AfC. 15 minutes after my submission, the article which is the subject of this XfD was created in the mainspace.

Given that there is mixed consensus to keep, delete, or draftify, and that the original article on the subject was already in the AfC process, I am closing this so that it can continue through the AfC process.

This article was in and should be in the draftspace as it is, going through the AfC process as it was before Bulldawg2021 created it in the mainspace, and not the subject of an XFD. Had I chosen to publish directly to the mainspace instead of trusting the AfC process, Bulldawg2021 would not have been able to publish his version of the article.

I also feel that this version of the article teeters on a bit promotional, whereas the original which was in the AfC submission process was more neutral.

I really am trying to help, and I hope this closure is not wrong. While it may not matter, I spent a lot of time on the original article, and to see someone create it in the mainspace after I submitted for review through AfC is very de-motivating as a volunteer editor.

I apologize in advance if this isn't an appropriate closure, but I am under the impression it is.

My reasoning is that not closing this as a redirect, would essentially mean it's ok for editors to go through pending AfC articles, create it themselves and publish to mainspace, and then the original editor gets their AfC declined because "The article is already in the mainspace."

My thinking is that if Bulldawg2021 is allowed to do what he did (which I assume he didn't do on purpose..), then it almost seems foolish to put time and care into developing a draft and then submitting it to AfC, instead of publishing to the mainspace.

This situation has almost made me feel as if I should not have gone through the AfC process and instead published to the mainspace, but by closing, I am hoping to correct this dilemma.

Again, if I'm making a mistake here, I am really sorry.

(if you look at the edit history here https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Draft:Hailey_Welch, you will see this article was already created and submitted for review when BullDawg2021 created it in the mainspace.) (non-admin closure) Comintell (talk) 03:10, 6 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Latest viral meme, very WP:BIO1E. WP:TOOSOON to tell if this is lasting. - UtherSRG (talk) 13:01, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment. Her name is Hailey Welch, and I created this page fitst and submitted through AfC. Draft:Hailey Welch
The user paraphrased much of my draft, and changed the name because my draft already existed. THIS is incredibly disingenuous.
To clarify. If you read my draft, I think you will see that Welch DOES qualify for notability, specifically because of sustained significant coverage over the last month, and her pivioting into a career and getting mentored by Shaq. I can't believe this UtherSRG basically copied my draft and moved it to mainspace with a spelling error in the name Comintell (talk) 18:57, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Super suspicious that this article says "Often misspelled as Hailey Welch" When All reliable sources cite her name to be Hailey Welch Comintell (talk) 19:03, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Please go to her social medias. Her name is Haliey Welch. BullDawg2021 (talk) 19:22, 5 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
