Brenda Dolphin RSM (born 1945[1]) is an Irish member of the Sisters of Mercy. She is also a lecturer in the Department of Psychology at the Pontifical Gregorian University, joining the department in 1988.[2][3]

Life

Originally from Birr in Ireland,[4] Dolphin has a degree in education and a PhD in psychology.[1]

In 2019, she was one of the examiners of the first thesis at a university sanctioned by the Vatican that addressed the sexual abuse of nuns by priests.[5][6] The research was undertaken by Togolese nun, Makamatine Lembo.[7]

In 2024, Brenda Dolphin was appointed postulator for the beatification process of Catherine McAuley.[8] In 2019 she was elected Provincial Leader of the Sisters of Mercy.[4]
