English: The West Virginia State Capitol building, designed by Cass Gilbert in neoclassical architectural style, built between 1924–1932, located at 1900 Kanawha Boulevard East, Charleston, West Virginia, U.S. Photo taken in November of 2022.
Photo shows Statue of President Abraham Lincoln, entitled "Abraham Lincoln Walks at Midnight", after a poem by Vachel Lindsay. Lincoln created the State of West Virginia by Proclamation and Signature. Statue sculpted by WV native Fred Martin Torrey (1884-1967). Dedicated on June 20, 1974 by WV Governor Arch A. Moore, Jr. |
