Summary

Description
English: Rev. John Davis Paris (1809–1892) was a missionary to Hawaii. He first arrived in 1841, intending to go to Oregon Territory, but the station had been wiped out. He built a church ai the remote outpost of Waionihu, where he first wife died. He traveled back to the US, married a cousin of his first wife, and returned. He built several more churches in the Kona area, including Kahikolu, Helani, Mauna Ziona, Holualoa, and Lanakila, where he died and is buried.
