Miss Cosmo (Miss Cosmo International) is an annual international beauty pageant organized by UNICorp and UNIMedia in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam. It was founded in August 2023 with its inaugural edition coming in October 2024.

History

Miss Cosmo will take place in Ho Chi Minh City from 15 September to 15 October 2024.[1] The pageant will have contestants from more than 70 countries and territories.[2][3][4][5][6]

The winner will receive prizes such as cash, a modeling contract, and the chance to represent the pageant worldwide. Additionally, she becomes an ambassador for charitable initiatives endorsed by Miss Cosmo International, promoting diversity and inclusion within the beauty industry.[7][8][9][10][11]

In 2023, the Miss Universe franchise in Vietnam was officially awarded to a new national licensee.[12] However, Hoa hậu Hoàn vũ Việt Nam continued to be held as an independent pageant with a new title – Miss Cosmo Vietnam, separate from the new Miss Universe Vietnam competition.[13] Due to the split, the winner of Hoa hậu Hoàn vũ Việt Nam was no longer Miss Universe Vietnam and on 1 August, it was announced that the pageant would be renamed Miss Cosmo Vietnam and the accompanying reality television series was also renamed I Am Miss Cosmo Vietnam.[14][15]

Further changes regarding the late rebranding were announced at the press release on 7 August 2023, such as the discontinuation of the second runner-up title, the decision to no longer send delegates to Miss Charm and the audience will have the power to judge contestants' performances throughout the final.[16]

On 12 August 2023, UNICorp announced that they had held a new international pageant called Miss Cosmo, and the winner of Miss Cosmo Vietnam will be Vietnam's next representative in this pageant. Miss Cosmo Vietnam President Trần Việt Bảo Hoàng is the founder, initiator and president of this pageant.[17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27]
