The idea that the Arabs had to turn East, to Iran, to learn how to call their Roman neighbors, masters and trade partners is unworthy of Wikipedia. Not only do these Iranian sources have to show that a Persian term 'Hrom' existed in pre-Islamic times, they have to show that the Arabic came from this Persian word, and not from the Greek..
