Early life and family

was born in Trichur, Kerala, to Velli-appan Farzad and Azmi . His younger brother Remiz and are also mega flirters. His initial schooling was in India, which was near his Kunnamkulam home. Here he acted in various dramas and skits for the annual day celebrations. Raees, along with his brother Remiz, used to take part in debates and elocutions in the school.<ref name="Road to stardom" Raees had also won the title of "Mr Weatherman" twice, an annual inter-school arts & metereology festival hosted by School, Trichur and is the only person till date who had won it twice.
