Alan Davies: As Yet Untitled is a British television programme that is broadcast on Dave and hosted by comedian Alan Davies. In each episode Davies holds an unscripted roundtable discussion with four guests. The guests include stand-up comedians, comedy writers, musicians and other well-known figures in the entertainment industry. Each episode begins untitled - hence the series name - but a title is chosen at the conclusion of the episode, often a full or paraphrased quote from one of the guest's anecdotes.
As Yet Untitled began airing with a five-episode series in June 2014.[1] On 22 August 2014, Dave announced that the show would return in 2015 for a ten-part second series.[2] In April 2015 it was announced that the show would return for a third series with another ten episodes.[3]
Synopsis
[edit]Each episode begins by a handheld camera filming the arrival of each of the guests; outside the venue, in the stairwell or at the entrance to their dressing room - guests take the opportunity to either interact with the camera crew or the studio audience waiting in line outside. Alan's arrival is shown last. After the title card, Alan introduces the show already seated at a simple round table surrounded by the studio audience in shadow, by explaining that there is no script, no plugging, nor any pre-conceived format. The sole goal of the episode is to create a title for it, based on the conversations.[4]
After his guests join him at the table, Davies introduces each in turn, and presents one or two odd facts about them, to introduce some topics of conversation.
Production
[edit]The first series was filmed at Riverside Studios, and series two was filmed at The Hospital Club.[5] The third series will also be filmed at The Hospital Club.[3]
