Karen Boers[edit]

Karen Boers is a Belgian entrepreneur. She became entrepreneur when she realized that the increasing needs in the IT industry were not matched by the unemployed. She decided to work along with Bruxelles Formation, VDAB and ONEM in order to set up an adequate training. The training lasts 6 months and is entirely free thanks to the sponsors. [1]

Career[edit]

Karen Boers has more than 10 years of professional experience in HR, communication, team management and marketing.[3]

She headed the marketing team at iMinds (formerly IBBT) for eight years, putting the software innovation institute on the European map and on the radar of many innovation actors across the world.[4]

Karen Boers is the co-founder and Managing Director of Startups.be (which brings hundreds of startups together with incubators, accelerators, investors and public actors in a local startup ecosystem[5]), the owner & CEO of Boers & Peusens BVBA, as well as board member and CEO of European Startup Network (which aims to help create a truly pan-European bottom-up startup ecosystem[5]).[4]

Boers is also the co-founder and CEO of BeCode, a coding school different from any other[1] and the co-founder and board member of BeCentral[2]

Karen Boers is also a freelance coach. [6]
