Gerry Kennedy Fine Gael Candidate Lucan Palmerstown



Gerry Kennedy from Palmerstown has been nominated to contest the Local Elections for the Lucan/Palmerstown Ward of South Dublin County Council. Gerry was born in Ballyfermot and has lived in Palmerstown since 2002.

Gerry had a long career in Aer Lingus from 1972 to 2004. He worked in Office Services (Post Section and Print Room), Payroll, Reservations, Accounts Payable and Human Resources Departments. Gerry was promoted through the ranks in Accounts Payable and was appointed Manager Accounts Payable in 1990. He was appointed Staff Relations Specialist in 1995.Gerry was Manager Employee Relations from 2002-2004. He left Aer Lingus and became Industrial Relations Manager of Coca Cola Bottlers (Ireland) based in Dublin. Gerry Joined Jacob Fruitfield Food Group as Group Human Resources Manager in 2005 and successfully negotiated a change agreement with the Trades Unions represented there.

He joined Dairygold in 2006 in the Consumer Foods Division as Head of Human Resources in 2006. When Dairygold split into two entities in 2006 he became Acting Head of Human Resources for Reox Holdings, a position he held until 2009. He was responsible to Board Level for Human Resources matters for 4Home Superstores, Alchemy Properties and Breeo Foods in addition to Group responsibility. Gerry Worked with Kerry Foods following their successful takeover of Breeo Foods in March 2009 following a High Court challenge to a ruling on the bid by the Competition Authority in Ireland. Gerry worked for Digicel in Papua New Guinea as Head of Human Resources during 2012.

Since his return to Ireland he has worked for a wide range of clients. He specialises in Human Resouces, Transfer of Undertakings (TUPE), Industrial Relations, Employee Relations, Restructuring, Change and Corporate Governance. He drives solutions to problem issues and change.
