Before adding a category to an article, as you did to Category:White supremacy in the United States, please make sure that the subject of the article really belongs in the category that you specified according to Wikipedia's categorization guidelines. The category being added must already exist, and must be supported by the article's verifiable content. Categories may be removed if they are deemed incorrect for the subject matter. Specific note: The category you edited already exists in a subcategory (Category:White nationalism in the United States). Categories here are hierarchial trees, not meta tags, so with some exceptions, an article will only exist in one category in the tree.
