You don't have to log in to read or edit articles on Wikipedia, but if you wish to acquire additional privileges, you can simply create a named account. It's free, requires no personal information, and lets you:
- Create new pages and rename pages
- Edit semi-protected pages
- Upload images
- Have your own watchlist, which shows when articles you are interested in have changed
If you edit without using a named account, your IP address (216.104.118.88) is used to identify you instead.
I hope that you, as a Wikipedian, decide to continue contributing to our project: an encyclopedia of human knowledge that anyone can edit. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, or you can to ask for help on your talk page, and a volunteer should respond shortly. We also have an intuitive guide on editing if you're interested. By the way, please make sure to sign and date your talk page comments with four tildes (~~~~).
Happy editing! Ipatrol (talk) 20:03, 2 February 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Hello, I'm Yosemiter. I noticed that you recently removed content from List of NHL playoff series without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.
When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:
Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)
Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.
Edit summary content is visible in:
Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Yosemiter (talk) 20:22, 2 February 2018 (UTC)
Please refrain from making unconstructive edits to Wikipedia, as you did at Diary of a Wimpy Kid (book series). Your edits appear to constitute vandalism and have been reverted. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Repeated vandalism can result in the loss of editing privileges. Thank you. Zyc1174 chat? what I did 20:06, 4 February 2018 (UTC)

[edit]Please refrain from adding incorrect information, and misleading edit summaries, to articles such as 2017–18 OHL season. Your edits to the playoff sections specifically are incorrect, as your claims of playoff spots are not confirmed by the league. Your contributions are consistently against Wikipedia practices, and disruptive to fellow editors. Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did at 2017–18 OHL season, you may be blocked from editing. Flibirigit (talk) 16:54, 3 March 2018 (UTC)
Please refrain from adding incorrect information, and misleading edit summaries, to articles such as 2017–18 OHL season. You persistenly adding the Hamilton Bulldogs as the number 1 seed. This is incorrect, as the team has not clinched first in the conference, just their own division at this time. You may be blocked from editing without further warning the next time you vandalize Wikipedia. Flibirigit (talk) 16:14, 4 March 2018 (UTC)
This is the discussion page for an IP user, identified by the user's IP address. Many IP addresses change periodically, and are often shared by several users. If you are an IP user, you may create an account or log in to avoid future confusion with other IP users. Registering also hides your IP address. |
