Possible BLP violations

[edit]

See WP:BLP. This is regarding your edits to Waldemar Skrzypczak - GizzyCatBella🍁 18:53, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The text is properly referenced. If a Polish or a Russian former general goes claiming random territories in mainstream media, that's their free choice. 213.222.183.137 (talk) 18:54, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Please use caution while editing articles about the living people. Did you read WP:BLP ? I’m talking about statements like this for example: He is notable for his irredentism and historical revisionism. I’ll revert you once more but if you continue then I’ll have no choice but to report you. - GizzyCatBella🍁 19:00, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Important notice

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in articles about living or recently deceased people, and edits relating to the subject (living or recently deceased) of such biographical articles. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

To opt out of receiving messages like this one, place {{Ds/aware}} on your user talk page and specify in the template the topic areas that you would like to opt out of alerts about. For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Hello,
could you elaborate how my contribution violated BLP policy, specifically, which of the 3 main BLP definitions? 213.222.183.137 (talk) 20:14, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Sure; please see Special:Diff/1079826269. ~ ToBeFree (talk) 20:33, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, responded there. 213.222.183.137 (talk) 20:43, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Okay IP, now on the very BLP's talk page you wrote this -->

I’m almost expecting the general to have been born in Hitlerville in Argentina - that would complete the picture. Someone wants to look that up? [1]

You implied that the subject might be a Nazi, might be born in Argentina in Hitlerville and you asked editors to look and reference that. Then you supplemented it all with this message -->[2] on my talk page. That is a horrendous WP:BLP violation even if you were joking (were you?) To me, the above suggests that you are not fit to edit any BLP article. - GizzyCatBella🍁 21:38, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Whether I'm fit or not is not for you to decide (although as per following point you have every right to an opinion).
And I do not have to justify x as per first amendment of US constitution which applies to BLP issues. According to US law it can be whatever as long as it is an opinion on a page used to exchange opinions (i.e. reach as consensus), which is precisely what Talk pages are and are for.
Thank you for pointing out you edited my complaint from your own Talk page - I've just reverted it. 213.222.183.137 (talk) 21:49, 28 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]
