Dates of party affiliation

[edit]

Please do not add the dates of a politician holding office into their infobox as dates association with their party affiliation. This presents the incorrect information that the politician only affiliated with their party in the year they took office and that they de-affiliated with the party upon losing office. In almost all cases this is incorrect. Where a politician retains the same party affiliation for their entire political career (which is most cases), it is best not to include dates in this infobox field.
