About your request for adminship

[edit]

Greetings! I see you've started a request to become an administrator at Wikipedia:Requests for adminship/ContrillionAU. Frankly, it is extremely unlikely that you will be granted administrator privileges so early in your time on Wikipedia. Familiarity with Wikipedia guidelines is demonstrated by experience, and there's just no baseline for you yet.

Might I humbly suggest you withdraw the request by placing {{db-author}} at the top of the page? Then, spend some time (several months, at the least) editing articles, improving sources, categorizing, and generally working to improve Wikipedia. Then, with a baseline in place, you may be better suited to place a request for adminship—and may even have other users willing to nominate you. —C.Fred (talk) 04:34, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi ContrillionAU. I noticed you created a Requests for Adminship page some time ago; I was wondering as to what the status of that request might be. I think it's fair to warn you that new users are rarely successful at RfA and that the Wikipedia editing community sets very high standards for editors running for adminship. That being said, I strongly urge you to read WP:GRFA, User:Davidwr/Administration is not for new users, and WP:NOTNOW, and ask you to reconsider whether you really do wish to go through with your candidacy; please understand that you stand very little to no chance of passing RfA at this point and that you are strongly discouraged from running for adminship. If you are still intent on running for adminship with that RfA and are absolutely positive this is what you want, please do let me know; otherwise, I'll go ahead and delete the RfA page for you in about a week or so from today. Regards, FASTILY (TALK) 05:12, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Addition of Mount Buller, Victoria to list of Good articles at Wikipedia:WikiProject Mountains

[edit]

Hi, I reverted your edit adding Mount Buller, Victoria to a list of Good articles at Wikipedia:WikiProject Mountains. There is a process for promoting articles to GA status, which is outlined at WP:GAN. Might I suggest that you familiarise yourself with the contents of Wikipedia:Welcoming committee/Welcome to Wikipedia and Wikipedia:Five pillars. Cheers. Jezhotwells (talk) 12:05, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

In addition, I reverted your removal of the stub class classification from Talk:Lake Mokoan. Please familiarise yourself with Wikipedia guidelines and policies before rushing around changing things. Also, please remember to provide an edit summary, if you edit a page. Jezhotwells (talk) 12:13, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Further, I have removed Bass Strait, Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean from the FA and GA lists at the Oceans project. Please desist from this, and if there are other such edits that I have not noticed, please revert yourself. Jezhotwells (talk) 12:19, 15 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProjects

[edit]

I can see that you are very enthusiastic haveing joined several dozen projects and now started up a new one yourself. have you read any of the guidelines on this? Did you run it through Wikipedia:WikiProject Council/Proposals? Did you consider asking Wikipedia:Australian Wikipedians' notice board? or considering the existence of Wikipedia:WikiProject Victoria. BTW, the last time I lloked at an atlas Victoria was in the South East of Australia. I am going to start a thread about this at WP Australia. I think you had better learn to communicate with other editors and follow Wikipedia policies and guidleines. 12:51, 16 August 2010 (UTC)

Nintendo task force membership update

[edit]

It's that time again to update membership status with the Nintendo task force, which we periodically do to keep our membership up-to-date.

All participants have been placed on an "Inactive participants" list. To confirm that you're still a member of the Nintendo task force, simply go to Wikipedia:WikiProject Video games/Nintendo#Members and move your name from the "Inactive participants" list to the bottom of the "Active participants" list. If you are no longer an active member in the task force, you may simply remove your name altogether. On 23 December, all entries under the "Inactive participants" list will be removed. Hopefully you can stay with us and continue to work on Nintendo-related articles. Regards, MuZemike delivered by MuZebot 17:27, 19 November 2010 (UTC)[reply]

February Melbourne Meetup

[edit]

Hi All. Just letting you know that we have another meetup planned for Melbourne, on Sunday, 26th February at 11am. More details can be found at the meetup page. Pizza will be provided. Look forward to seeing all of you there :-) SteveBot (talk) 22:54, 14 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

[edit]

Hi. When you recently edited Benalla, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page ANZ (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

June 2012

[edit]

Thanks for contributing new article Lake Benalla. However, one of Wikipedia's core policies is that material must be verifiable, by being clearly attributed to reliable sources. Please help by adding more sources to the article you created, and/or by clarifying how the sources already given support the material (see here for how to do inline referencing). Many thanks! PS If you need any help, you can look at Help:Contents/Editing Wikipedia or ask at Wikipedia:New contributors' help page, or just ask me. Ways to improve 96three FM

[edit]

Hi, I'm Robertgombos. ContrillionAU, thanks for creating 96three FM!

I've just tagged the page, using our page curation tools, as having some issues to fix. Added the stub tag and will fill in some categories.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, you can leave a comment on my talk page. Or, for more editing help, talk to the volunteers at the Teahouse.

WikiProject Apple Inc.

[edit]

Hello ContrillionAU,

You've been identified either as a previous member of the project, an active editor on Apple related pages, a bearer of Apple related userboxes, or just a hoopy frood.

WikiProject Apple Inc. has unexpectedly quit, because an error type "unknown" occured. Editors must restart it! If you are interested, read the project page and sign up as a member. There's something for everyone to do, such as welcoming, sourcing, writing, copy editing, gnoming, proofreading, or feedback — but no pressure. Do what you do, but let's coordinate and stay in touch.

See the full welcome message on the talk page, or join the new IRC channel on irc.freenode.net named #wikipedia-en-appleinc connect. Please join, speak, and idle, and someone will read and reply.

Please spread the word, and join or unsubscribe at the subscription page.

Trying to get WikiProject Amateur Radio back on the air!

[edit]

Hi, I'm Dr vulpes (💬📝) and I'm currently doing my best to resurrect the amateur radio WikiProject. A lot of the articles need some serious work and so I'm trying to organize an article improvement drive in October. If you're interested check out the link to the drive and the project page. Right now everything is in the planning stages, trying to find people interested, articles to focus on, etc. So if you know anyone who would like to help out feel free to invite them! If you no longer interested in this project that's a-ok just remove yourself from the list on the project page and I'll never badger you again. 73! Dr vulpes (💬📝) 00:23, 15 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
