Hello, Dor Posner, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Israel Muslim Scouts Association, may not conform to some of Wikipedia's guidelines, and may not be retained.

A tag has been placed on Israel Muslim Scouts Association requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:

Unremarkable group, no references

Under the criteria for speedy deletion, pages that meet certain criteria may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here. | Naypta opened his mouth at 11:49, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Status and Advice

[edit]

As reviewing administrator, I did not delete the article. But you must add references providing substantial coverage from third-party independent reliable sources, not press releases or mere announcements. I notice the Hebrew Wikipedia article does not have them, but each Wikipedia is different, and our rules absolutely require them for all articles. DGG ( talk ) 23:10, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I agree, we need it also in the Hebrew Wikipedia. Most of the sources are not online, so I will dig a little bit in the archive of the youth movements in Israel to find out more about it.--Dor Posner (talk) 06:40, 25 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome

[edit]

It looks like you are willing to revamp/create the Israeli related scouting pages. If you need help, leave a note on my talk page. BTW it is sometimes better to create new articles in your sandbox and then move; it slows down drive by speedy deletion messages. --Erp (talk) 20:38, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]

(on the followup on the message on my talk page) Much needed, I assume you read Hebrew, do you also read Arabic so as to look at some of the Arabic scout pages? A I can read neither. Are you an Israeli scout (or guide)? I'm not an expert, but, I've had some experience with wikipedia and with the scouting pages on it. Note one possibility is that the articles for the smaller groups may be merged into the Federation page. It might make both stronger. I'll do some editing on the Muslim Scout page and add some questions on the talk page. --Erp (talk) 23:45, 24 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I am an Israeli Scout for many years. in the last 10 years I am working in the Hebrew Scouts Movement: first as a tribe leader, than the national website manager and in the last 3 years I am working in the International department. but as from this month I am starting a new role as the director of the Israel Boy and Girl Scouts Federation - this is a new job in general, so it will take some time to understand the job description, but one of the first things I want to do is to get a lot more information from the Druze and Arab scout organizations (for our website in Hebrew/Arabic, but also for international use and for here).--Dor Posner (talk) 06:38, 25 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I think you'll need to be careful of Conflict of Interest then with regards to Israeli scouting articles. It might be best to concentrate on improving the web pages of the organizations and using the Wikipedia talk pages to point to them or to articles in newspapers or to other appropriate sources or to note errors in the articles (especially if some editors are using google translate to get the sense of the article). Also providing relevant pictures with the necessary permissions and context. --Erp (talk) 00:32, 26 July 2015 (UTC)[reply]
