Cryptocurrency notice

[edit]
This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in blockchain and cryptocurrencies. Due to past disruption in this topic area, the community has authorised uninvolved administrators to impose contentious topics restrictions—such as editing restrictions, bans, or blocks—on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, expected standards of behaviour, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on these sanctions. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Hi. Could you please advise re: linking / hyperlinking. How many do you suggest per article entry? Durbaneditor (talk) 14:45, 20 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
@Durbaneditor - Hi. It's not so much how many links you have as it is the quality of the sources. For example, you had one from Yahoo Finance - which is a distributor site - that is actually a press release. Newswire sites aren't the best places to use for sources as they're primary and not secondary.
I would recommend checking out the Reliable sources guideline to help with that.
Also, it's customary to consolidate duplicate references. You did this for the one used for all the items in the list under "Guiding Principles", but several others were treated as separate resources. They aren't, though. It makes it look like you're trying to pad your citations and make it appear that the person has met WP:GNG.
And I moved the link to the dealership under External links in the article instead of leaving it as a reference. OIM20 (talk) 12:30, 22 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for getting back to me. Your comments are noted. 156.155.200.218 (talk) 07:26, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Additionally, please review Help:Your first article as well as WP:NPOV and WP:COI. Your first articles' subjects may be notable, but the articles were certainly not neutral initially. Thanks, WhoAteMyButter (🌷talk🌻contribs) 07:12, 23 March 2024 (UTC)[reply]
