Redirecting

[edit]

Hi. regarding your comment on the Low whistle discussion page, redirecting is easy:

  • Type in the name of the article you want to redirect from - e.g. 'Celtic low whistle'. Assuming that there's no article with that name already, and no redirect in place, you'll get a variety of options. One of these (in red) is 'Create the page'.
  • Click that option, and you'll be given an empty page.
  • On the page type '#REDIRECT[[article you want to redirect to]]' (without the quotes) - so in this case, you'd type:#REDIRECT[[Low whistle]].
  • Enter an edit summary at the bottom of the screen - something like 'creating redirect', and hit the 'Show preview' button
  • If you've done everything correctly, you should see a page with an arrow pointing down and to the right, and the name of the article in blue (if it's in red then you've mistyped the article name).
  • Click the 'Save page' button
  • That's all folks ! Once you've done one, you'll see how easy it is. Drop a message on my talk page if you need any clarification. CultureDrone (talk) 11:28, 21 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
