Ways to improve Reflections of Bedford

[edit]

Hello, Frzzl,

Thank you for creating Reflections of Bedford.

I have tagged the page as having some issues to fix, as a part of our page curation process and note that:

Needs some critical reception, also the link should be added to the Rick Kirby article. Also any references beyond the local papers.

The tags can be removed by you or another editor once the issues they mention are addressed. If you have questions, leave a comment here and begin it with {{Re|AngusWOOF}}. Remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. For broader editing help, please visit the Teahouse.

Cumbrian parishes

[edit]

Thankyou for creating Selside and Fawcett Forest and the other hamlets, there are 6 other missing parishes in Cumbria namely Lands common to Holme Abbey, Holme Low and Holme St Cuthbert, Carlatton, Drigg and Carleton, Lindal and Marton (draft existed at Draft:Lindal and Marton, Cumbria), Old Hutton and Holmescales and Underbarrow and Bradleyfield. Crouch, Swale (talk) 18:49, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

No problem, I'll do them. Do you know if there is any form of WikiProject Cumbria? A huge amount of villages/hamlets in Cumbria have no mention on Wikipedia, it'd be nice to give them some pages. Thank you as well for attaching the articles to their respective WikiData pages :D Frzzl (talk) 19:01, 18 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Hello @GeoffreyT2000, thanks for your message. The image should now be used in Dawn (Ry X album), does this solve the problem. If so, should I remove it from the orphaned non free-use lists?

The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Streichmelodion. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Streichmelodion), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Jews Don't Count, you added links pointing to the disambiguation pages Black Jews and The Telegraph. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 06:02, 27 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, List of headmasters at Bedford School, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 14:49, 19 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ongoing GA nomination of Edgar de Wahl

[edit]

@Frzzl and Caro de Segeda: Hello Frzzl, I've noticed that you have recently edited the article on Edgar de Wahl, which has been nominated by Caro de Segeda to be promoted as a GA , and which I am reviewing. Some of your edits have resulted in substantial changes to the article, some of which I will need to point out as being in error, and one that has been reverted by the nominator.

There is nothing to stop you from editing the article, but from my experience I have found it impossible to work on a review when the article is being amended by some other than the nominator, and apparently without that person's agreement. Therefore could you please allow the review comments to finish being completed and addressed, and perhaps during the review consider using the talk page to discuss suggestions for any revisions? Amitchell125 (talk) 08:03, 24 April 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Not a copyvio at Smith of Wootton Major

[edit]

Frzzl, not sure my ping worked, so here's the matter directly. Elphion certainly did NOT copy from the site you named, so the copyying must be in the other direction. Here's why. Elphion made this edit at 18:53 on 2 May 2008, which consisted of a series of small copy-edits, e.g. he changed "...Wootton Major is well-known..." to "Wootton ...Major was well-known..." and so on throughout the section; and the other website has the text WITH Elphion's copy-edits included. So we do not have a copyvio in Smith of Wootton Major, nor any reason to worry here about this GAN. Chiswick Chap (talk) 18:57, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

OK, that's no problem, and I'm sorry for mistakenly misidentifying it as such. I'll remove it from the noticeboard and get rid of the template. Due to the blunder I made of the quickfail, I think you can renom it instantly. Frzzltalk;contribs
On second thoughts, looks like I'm not meant to remove the template, but I'll put a comment on the talk page. Frzzltalk;contribs 18:43, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It'll be fine for you to remove it, given that we agree there isn't an issue with the article (and there's no point wasting admin time on nothing); it's just not so great if anyone else does it, as that would look like trouble. Chiswick Chap (talk) 18:50, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Once you've done that, there is no reason for a renom, either, as you can simply undo the qf and continue with the /GA1 review. Chiswick Chap (talk) 18:59, 17 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Wede

[edit]

The article Wede you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Wede for comments about the article, and Talk:Wede/GA1 for the nomination. Well done! If the article has never appeared on the Main Page as a "Did you know" item, and has not appeared within the last year either as "Today's featured article", or as a bold link under "In the news" or in the "On this day" prose section, you can nominate it within the next seven days to appear at DYK. Bolded names with dates listed at the bottom of the "On this day" column do not affect DYK eligibility. Thank you for improving articles in September, such as this achievement! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 12:38, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you very much! I'm definitely starting to work out a system for writing decent-quality articles: I managed two GANs this month, which I'm very happy with (although the numbers don't really matter). I'm enjoying following you on your operatic travels, many thanks for the updates! Frzzltalk;contribs 22:50, 22 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Jews Don't Count

[edit]

On 27 September 2023, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Jews Don't Count, which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that according to David Baddiel's book Jews Don't Count, antisemitism has become perceived as a "second-class racism"? The nomination discussion and review may be seen at Template:Did you know nominations/Jews Don't Count. You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Jews Don't Count), and the hook may be added to the statistics page after its run on the Main Page has completed. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Thank you so much for your kind messages! Life's been hectic recently, but I hope to be back wikipedia-ing sometime next week! Hope you're doing well - Frzzltalk;contribs 16:18, 20 October 2023 (UTC) Frzzltalk;contribs 16:18, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You are welcome, and I'm well, on vacation! - Towards the end of the month, I thought of Brian Bouldton, and his ways to compromise, - with musings about peace there, - feel free to join. Hevenu shalom aleichem. Today is Reformation Day, and I believe that reformation is a work in progress. -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:46, 31 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello! Hope you're enjoying your holiday, I'm certain you deserve it. Brianboulton came and went before my joining here, but from all I've read of him, he truly embodied Wikipedian values of kindness - we should be thankful that he graced the platform with his presence. I found your last point very interesting to consider - we can walk along the infinite road to perfection; perhaps reform forms the steps along it... Wymington

[edit]

Good day! Thanks for your offer to help out with the Wymington page. Any photos or other info you might be able to find would be very helpful! Some images of the grade listed buildings, the school, the village sign at the intersection of High Street and Rushden Road, the churchyard war memorial, the Miss Liberty Belle memorial, the village hall, or the pub could be good. I no longer live nearby, so obtaining any local information that's not digitized is challenging. If you're feeling up for an adventure, the libraries in Bedford or Rushden might hold some information or documents that aren't discoverable by other means! nf utvol (talk) 02:08, 21 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
