Adminship?

Hi Jeffrey Mall. Do you want to become an administrator? Adminship provides you with a few extra buttons to maintain the encyclopedia. I think you have acted like an admin, rollbacking unconstructive edits and other vandal-fighting work. If you want to be one, tell me; if not, either way, contact me. To learn about admins, see WP:SYSOP. Chevy Impala 2009 21:30, 31 August 2009 (UTC)

Okay, that's fine with me. Just work hard on your vandal-fighting areas, and when I think you have enough experience (probably in half a year) I will reconsider. Cheers, Chevy Impala 2009 00:11, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Thank you :)

Someone vandalized my Userspace! But a little angel came along and fixed it! Thank you! You can thank others by using {{subst:Vangel}}! [midnight comet] [talk] 19:48, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks!

For the speedy reversion of the vandal's addition to my talk page. It's like playing whackamole when they create several accounts for the sole purpose of repetitive idiotic insertion of vandalism and reversion to the vandal edit. Edison (talk) 21:06, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

No problem, I like to help. Jeffrey Mall (talkcontribs) - 22:57, 1 September 2009 (UTC)

Thanks!

For signing my guestbook! Get others to sign too! :)Accdude92 (talk) (sign) 16:26, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

No problem buddy, if you want you can add your guestbook here and others will sign it. Jeffrey Mall (talkcontribs) - 16:30, 2 September 2009 (UTC)

Backlogs

Hey there! While it helps to remove the AIV backlog notice, as it usually takes the bot a while, generally you don't have to worry; it will get taken care of on the bot's next check. Thanks, though!

P.S. Darn, your talk page header looks awfully familiar! ;) Cheers, Master of Puppets - Call me MoP! :D 03:16, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Ha! Yeah I know, I just like to help out where I can :D. Jeffrey Mall (talkcontribs) - 03:18, 5 September 2009 (UTC)
Well, cheers, it's much appreciated! :) Keep up the great work, Master of Puppets - Call me MoP! :D 03:21, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

What the hell man!! —Preceding unsigned comment added by 121.74.226.255 (talk) 03:28, 5 September 2009 (UTC)

Quit using the word "hell". Use "heck" as it is more appropiate. Also, please remember to assume good faith. Chevy Impala 2009 12:53, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

Practical joke

HEH HEH HEH!!! :) That was funny. Because you were bored, eh? I was tired after coming back from Busch Gardens (the Tampa one). Chevy Impala 2009 12:19, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

Must have been fun :)). Jeffrey Mall (talkcontribs) - 18:36, 6 September 2009 (UTC)

Take it easy then buddy. Jeffrey Mall (talkcontribs) - 17:00, 7 September 2009 (UTC)

Angliaman help

Jeffrey thanks for the advice, I can see I made a few errors on the help desk page, I will try and tidy it up, it is a learning curve for me, and there is quite a lot to learn, so the help appreciated. David B

Angliaman (talk) 19:50, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

Really nice of you to be so helpful, it is a good site but a little confusing.

I will try not to upset or spoil anything along the way. I wanted to improve the page, if there is one, not checked for Huntingdon Community Radio, but because I am on the voluntary mamnagement team, they were not overkeen for me to be seen to have ay conflict of interests. I gain nothing from it, other than the satidsfaction of knowing that information in the public domain about our forth coming community radio station is seen on the web, so that people from Huntingdon now living in Canada or New Zealand, if they google or search, they may come across the link and get accurate information. I won't do anything as no wish to upset any applcarts, they did not say NO but be cautious. I think I will ait until such time I have got to know a few editors well, and then one of them with no association with the charity project, might help out by addding the information that would have been put there by me. Your thoughts welcome, the web site is www.hcrfm.co.uk about to be updated and relaunched. I give the web site so you can see there is such a project. i am just not certain what is written on this site reflects things as they are. I will check later. Again thanks Jeffrey, David B

Angliaman (talk) 20:05, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

My last posting for now, er I found there is what they call a Wiki on HCRfm as it now is at this location:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Huntingdon_Community_Radio but it's rubbish and so out of date, not sure the difference between a Wiki and a Wikedpedia page. It says on a Huntingdon Community Radio search there is nothing, but this Wiki! I cannot see what the problem is in trying to put more accurate information in the public domain, I gain nothing from it, but the radio, a charity and the people searching for information about it on the Net would gain! Do you have a view? I will be guided by your thoughts and experience.

Angliaman (talk) 20:12, 11 September 2009 (UTC)

Jeffrey, I was asking your opinion about whether or no to publish factual information about a charity group I am involved with in the public arena, or would this get me into bother with Wikedpedia or some members, re conflict of interest, even thour gthere is no actual GAIN for me? I am in two minds, part of me says it should not be a problem, part of me says don't get into hot water, even though all I would do would be factual. Or should I do a Sandbox, is that a trial page andask for opinions there, so it is not published? Did not mean to confuse you, but you clearly have more experience than me, and are helpful. DB

Angliaman (talk) 08:07, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Comments notes re the radio, I won't do anything, not myself, or others from the station. I have made some changes to Anglia Television, Yorkshire Television and the page about Billy Bunter on TV I would appreciate you comments good or otherwise on these edits, even though they may not be a genre of great interest to you, it will help me.

Angliaman (talk) 16:18, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Jeffrey, thanks for the advice and tips, the Bunter one was more daring as there were more changes, I am not yet sure how to add the links, but much of what I write about is verifiable, but through old programme schedules, and Radio and TV Times. But so far, I don't think anyone has complained or removed/changed anything. Small beginnings, but if I carry on like that in safe but knowledgeable territory, my reputation for accuracy and relaiblity will slowly grow and I assume that is how things work. Thanks again and take care. DB

Angliaman (talk) 17:00, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Jeffrey, can you check over my recent change to BBC Birmingham, as I changed sub heading so it could relate to old and new programmes, BUT I included a section on BBC Birmingham pioneering early programme for the Asian community. Race relations is still a hot potatoe, but I hope you feel the way I addressed it, was comfortable and ok! I will add more about BBC Birmingham programmes tomorrow, their live entertainment and magazine programmes from Pebble Mill when broadcasting hours were extended. Thanks for keeping a watch over me in the early days, nobody else seems to have an opinion either way, but perhaps the lack of any negative feedback, is a sign I am progressing reasonably well, if cautious!

Do feel free to ask other editors etc that you know to pass comment, good or indifferent. Oh and do you want me to edit my help talk with you, as the above all taken on board, so as to reduce things down? David B

Angliaman (talk) 20:18, 12 September 2009 (UTC)

Jeffrey that was a quick response and thanks, I am not sure yet how to make attributes, some are added as I was there at the time, at Publications, Radio London and BBC TV Centre, but we cannot blow our own trumpet, I just add facts, and non related to me at all. I would be happy to be mentored, it would be good, are you going to find one for me, or do I need to do something? I am glad you changed the sub-heading, I wanted to but did not wish to offend the orginal writer. I will add more about Pebble Mill, Pot Black snooker and any other relevant Birmingham stuff, then move to Bristol, Manchester etc. I am off to rest now, but I recently updated the page on Radio Times as you can see. That is enough for today. But details of this mentor scheme or a mentor yes, and call me David and yes I will still be in touch with you, even when I have a mentor, but may be not as much :-) Take Care David

Thanks for your efforts! :) I was going to revert an edit using WP:TW, and I got in a conflict with you. Oh, and you're welcome by the way. Chevy Impala 2009 (Sign me!) 01:13, 16 September 2009 (UTC)

Your question on Talk:Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories

I noticed your question on Talk:Yu-Gi-Oh! Forbidden Memories. I'm largely responsible for the current revision of the plot summary. If it differs significantly from yours, there are three possible reasons:

  1. I royally screwed it up during my rewrite (possible, but I'm pretty careful to keep the story strait)
  2. The revision I based mine on was bullcrap (possible, but I'd think someone would have picked up on it)
  3. They released different stories for the different regions (I can think of only one other instance of that)

If you have the time, would you mind dropping off a version of your plot summary on my talk page? I'll see if I can get to the bottom of it. Thanks. Larrythefunkyferret (talk) 05:35, 17 September 2009 (UTC)

WPOD

Congratulations, Jeffrey Mall! For your kindness to others, your hard work around the wiki, and for your anti-vandalism, you have been awarded the "Wikipedian of the Day" award for today, September 18, 2009! Keep up the great work!
Note: A userbox will be coming up for this. Add it if you wish. But it won't come today.

Happy editing!

Question

Is there a way to delete an account as someone pretends to be you while making destructive edits?

There's no way to delete accounts, but rest assured all accounts with the intent to cause disruption will be blocked and most of the time indefinitely. Jeffrey Mall (talkcontribs) - 13:08, 21 September 2009 (UTC)

Thank you. I was talking about the Jshuy account someone made to act as if they were me on the Maryland Teenage Republicans page, which for some reason is being deleted? The group can be found in the Maryland State Archives —Preceding unsigned comment added by 173.73.49.155 (talk) 04:05, 4 October 2009 (UTC)

so mote it be

i see in the history of so mote it be that you have it changed back to redirect to the five whatever kiss. if i am doing this wrong and have the wrong person or whatever, ignore this message. i am currently studying Wicca. of what i have heard everywhere else (besides here), it has nothing to do with the five kiss thing. it is a phrase which lets our prayers to the goddess and god recognize our prayers and listen. but of course Wicca is a malleable religion. so a phrase which ends our prayers just might be related to some sexy blessing, i don't know

AfD

I was just setting up the AfD article entry. Generally you should give it a few before you revert new entries if it appears blank. Mkdwtalk 00:41, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

Sorry mate my mistake, I hadn't looked at the time you added it. Cheers, Jeffrey Mall (talkcontribs) - 00:43, 22 September 2009 (UTC)

Wow, Thanks...

That fixed the disambiguation issue I had.  :) Awesome!Dat280zx (talk) 22:39, 28 September 2009 (UTC)
