Bond project

[edit]

Actually, I wasn't thinking so much that the project would have few members, but rather that the talk pages of these articles will probably already have several banners, and adding another one might make things that much more crowded. I know that there have been some projects Wikipedia:WikiProject Korea/Military history comes to mind, with are technically task forces of more than one project, thus, potentially, reducing the amount of banner congestion. I think we might be able to ask the Film and Fictional Series projects to maybe "work together" on this project. Considering that there are several series of both films and books of the same kind, I think that they may well be willing to see if they can set up one such group and see how they can set up such an arrangement, which might then be used when and if similar groups for other popular characters/series are proposed. John Carter 17:04, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I ahve already create the banner and created project categories and tagging - if it was just films I would have added it to the films but it covers a lot of mediums and is a substatial enough genre to have its own tag. I hope you like it ♦ Sir Blofeld ♦ "Expecting you" Contribs 19:12, 17 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

WikiProject: CSI

[edit]

Judging by your userboxes, you're a fan of the CSI shows, so I wondered if you would be interested in helping me start up WikiProject:CSI franchise. If not, is it OK if I use the wiki-markup/templates/userboxes from WP:007 to create the project page? Thanks in advance. Editus Reloaded 13:13, 11 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ok, I know I shouldn't directly copy WP:007, but I'm afraid I don't know enough markup to make my own design for the page. If you really think WP:CSI should change, feel free to edit the page to do so. Editus Reloaded 12:06, 12 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free image (Image:Juliet 'sexy back'.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Juliet 'sexy back'.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 16:38, 14 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Ed images

[edit]

They fail to provide adequate critical commentary to meet that criteria. Lists of episodes in general completely fail that criteria because, being lists, if enough commentary is added in to meet that requirement, the information will be moved to the article on that individual episode, because it would take up too much room in the list. Put the screenshots on the episode page, not the list. This has been the consensus for a month and a half now. -Mask? 04:57, 5 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My (Kwsn's) RfA

[edit]

Thank you for supporting my recent RfA. It unfortunately did not succeed. I still plan to continue to edit however. Hope to see you around. Kwsn(Ni!) 15:12, 8 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I went through and referenced as much as I could with a "making of" documentary on the Goldfinger DVD. I also condensed a "pop culture" section that had some info about a Mythbusters investigation into the possiblities of epidermal suffocation from body paint and explosive decompression. There was a little trivia that did not seem to be able to be integrated, so it was removed. I also added sections for Release and Reception as well as subsections on Casting and Effects, like at Casino Royale (2006). It's still rather far from GA- or FA-status, but I'm confident that a productive fortnight's collaboration should get us there. Cliff smith 04:46, 11 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, I'm sure you'll notice that a source of much information came from a documentary called "The Making of Goldfinger", which is a special feature on the Special 007 Edition DVD which I have. That DVD also includes a documentary called "The Goldfinger Phenomenon", which examines how the film really made the Bond franchize popular. I shall be reviewing said documentary and using its info for the Reception section, also maybe the Release section as well. Cliff smith 02:16, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, I was looking for a prettier way to do this, but I'm not very artistic, so I'll just say thank you for your support in my RfA, which was closed as successful. I look forward to serving the community in a new way. Take care! -- But|seriously|folks  08:20, 12 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:7x22 875.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:7x22 875.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Sara Sidle Miniature.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sara Sidle Miniature.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

Hi there. The Preity Zinta article has recently achieved A-class status. Due to the wealth of support I have decided to now nominate for an FA class article which I believe and judging by the comments of others is pretty much up to. Fair use rationale for Image:2403359744.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:2403359744.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. In order to help us know who is working on writing, sourcing, rating articles, and in general helping out the project, I encourage you to check out the WP:PODCAST main page and move your name into the 2008 members list. All the best and happy podcasting. --Breno talk 10:03, 13 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

WP:FILMS Questionnaire

[edit]

As a member of WikiProject Films, you are invited to take part in the project's first questionnaire. It is intended to gauge your participation and views on the project. At the conclusion of the questionnaire, the project's coordinators will use the gathered feedback to find new ways to improve the project and reach out to potential members. The results of the questionnaire will be published in next month's newsletter. If you know of any editors who have edited film articles in the past, please invite them to take part in the questionnaire. Please stop by and take a few minutes to answer the questions so that we can continue to improve our project. Happy editing!

Fair use rationale for File:Miniture killer2.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Miniture killer2.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Ricky81682 (talk) 00:42, 1 May 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Jay and Jack

[edit]

Hi - I noticed your name in the deletion log for Jay and Jack's lost podcast as being for keeping it. That was back in 2006, and lots has changed since then. Someone associated with their podcast (neither Jay nor Jack) asked me if there was any way they could get a page on here and not get it deleted. Looking through WP:WEB, I know what needs to be met. I know they had that AP piece written about them a few years ago and they won a podcasting award a couple years ago as well. I'm waiting on hearing back from the contact on whether they've had other articles written about them. If there have been, I feel we may have an argument for having them included in Wikipedia. Your thoughts? Darry2385 (talk) 16:02, 12 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:Crucible.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Crucible.jpg. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file agreed to license it under the given license.

If you created this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Kelly hi! 05:10, 27 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, I was just looking over the list of members on the Podcasting group and wanted to see if you were still active in the project. If so, it looks like the project could use a little jump-start. In particular, I think notability requirements and assessment guidelines could be added/updated. Please check out the page if you're still interested and move your name to the 2011 active list. Thanks! Udeezy (talk) 23:09, 30 January 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Non-free rationale for File:Modeldeath3.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:Modeldeath3.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under non-free content criteria, but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia is acceptable. Please go to the file description page, and edit it to include a non-free rationale.

If you have uploaded other non-free media, consider checking that you have specified the non-free rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. If you have any questions, please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Orphaned non-free image File:Natalie Davis.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Natalie Davis.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 18:41, 30 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
