Your recent articles

[edit]

Dear Hamweebers, your recent articles (Gardiner Henry Guion, Joseph Fox the younger, Joseph Fox the elder, and Dr Charles James Fox) present several problems. You appear to have found some very old source material from which to copy text into Wikipedia. While the sources are no doubt in the public domain due to their age and therefore do not present a copyright problem, the style and level of detail contained in these documents do not lend themselves to encyclopedic content. The article on Guion, in particular, is full of antiquated rank titles, detailed lists of ships served, complete entries from ships' logs, and a complete copy of the man's will. These are source data for an encyclopedia article, but the article itself should strive to sift this data into a coherent narrative of the man's life. Please keep this in mind as you continue to create new articles. WikiDan61ChatMe!ReadMe!! 14:09, 15 December 2009 (UTC)[reply]

The article Gardiner Henry Guion has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Appears to have, without references to support, achieved a minor rank in a European navy. Clearly notable to his family, but I can see no reason for this article to be supported.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
