League of Ireland players being deleted

[edit]

A Plymouth Argyle fan has decided that most League of Ireland players aren't notable because the league isn't fully professional and players are failing both WP:NFOOTBALL and WP:GNG, players apparently only should have articles if they've played in fully professional leagues, even if their notability comes from playing in Irish football. He's started by deleting Shane Duggan, has moved onto proposing deleting all Cork City's players, and it looks like it will continue on to the majority of League of Ireland players. Most of the discussion is here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/James McCarthy (footballer born 1983). Hsetne (talk) 05:29, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

He has moved onto proposing the mass deletion of Cork City players here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Mark McNulty (footballer) Hsetne (talk) 05:59, 30 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Support group

[edit]

Regarding this, I can assure you it was not «advertising» (using your own expression). I thought it is a great way to show how a support group is, in this particular case with a soccer team.

I don't see anything wrong with it.

The article Corie Treacy has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Plays in the second tier of League of Ireland football - not a fully professional league, fails WP:GNG and WP:NFOOTY

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. 2023 Shamrock Rovers F.C. season

[edit]

I noticed you started 2010 Shamrock Rovers F.C. season and I'm letting you know I started the 2023 season article. Shamrock Rovers have almost qualified for Europe again and it would be good to get the 2024 article started by December or January. Kingjeff (talk) 20:35, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
