This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. For the Election committee, MediaWiki message delivery (talk) 16:37, 23 November 2015 (UTC) Thank you for your message and sorry I haven't responded till now. Nomination for deletion of Template:2004–05 Welsh Alliance League table

[edit]

Template:2004–05 Welsh Alliance League table has been nominated for deletion. You are invited to comment on the discussion at the template's entry on the Templates for discussion page. Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 18:52, 21 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi @Zackmann08: I am currently in the process of creating these league table templates before updating all seasons in the Welsh League Alliance from 1984–85 to 2016–17 seasons. Please explain why you feel the need to delete the effort, research and time I've taken creating these templates? I feel what's the point of carrying on trying to improve Wikipedia if I'm getting this kind of response. How would you feel if I nominated deletions to you contributions? I hope to see the 'Nomination for deletion' to be removed or their will be a formal complaint issued. I am extremely not happy! Onshore (talk) 19:40, 21 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Well Onshore, you just violated policy in multiple different ways... First of all, threatening to report me if I do not do something could get you banned from Wikipedia by an admin (which I am NOT) so I would be careful. Additionally, you do not own the templates (WP:OWNERSHIP). Work submitted to Wikipedia can be edited, used, and redistributed—by anyone. If you are going to get up in arms because someone disagrees with you, you aren't going to last long here. The pages have been nominated for deletion, you are more than welcome to join the discussion and explain why the templates should not be deleted. That is the purpose of the discussion, but threatening me is not going to help your case at all. If you would like to have a legit conversation, I am more than happy to explain the issue and even to help you out, but if you are simply going to threaten me, then you are on your own. Up to you! --Zackmann (Talk to me/What I been doing) 20:05, 21 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

In all due respect @Zackmann08: I feel that someone has just thrown my work into the fire and I'm sure you too would be unhappy if the same thing happened to you. Onshore (talk) 20:25, 21 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]

thank you for creating and improving the league tables and articles. now that these have been merged with the articles, could you put a {{db-author}} on each of them? here is the automatically generated list which will shrink as the pages are deleted:
thank you. Frietjes (talk) 12:45, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Frietjes: Hi, that's now done. Thank you for helping merge them together. I have noticed there is Welsh Alliance League 2009–10 which has been moved but does pop up on the search if you search Welsh Alliance League and is the only one in all the season of the league. Should that be deleted? Many thanks, Onshore (talk) 19:35, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

the easiest way to have it deleted would be to have Soccer-holic tag it with {{db-author}}. otherwise, you could try tagging it with {{db-housekeeping}} with the rationale that it's the only one. depending on which admin processes it, it may or may not be deleted. the final option would be to send it to WP:RFD, which would probably have about a 30 percent chance of success, since the editors who comment over there love to keep everything that isn't killing anyone (i.e. the "redirects are harmless" argument). Frietjes (talk) 19:40, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Frietjes:Thanks for that, I've now added {{db-housekeeping}} to the Welsh Alliance League 2009–10. Onshore (talk) 19:49, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm RonBot, a script that checks new non-free file uploads. I have found that the subject image that you recently uploaded was more than 5% in excess of the Non-free content guideline size of 100,000 pixels. I have tagged the image for a standard reduction, which (for jpg/gif/png/svg files) normally happens within a day. Please check the reduced image, and make sure that the image is not excessively corrupted. Other files will be added to Category:Wikipedia non-free file size reduction requests for manual processing. There is a full seven-day period before the original oversized image will be hidden; during that time you might want to consider editing the original image yourself (perhaps an initial crop to allow a smaller reduction or none at all). A formula for the calculation of the desired size can be found at WP:Image resolution, along with instructions on how to tag the image in the rare cases that it requires an oversized image (typically about 0.2% of non-free uploads are tagged as necessarily oversized). Please contact the bot owner if you have any questions, or you can ask them at Wikipedia talk:Non-free content. See User:RonBot for info on how to not get these messages. New Welsh Football Structure

[edit]

@Zackmann08: and @Frietjes: As you both probably know, FAW wants to sort out all tiers 1 to 3 from August 2019. As this is only 4+ months away. I would like to create 'FAW Championship North & Mid' and FAW Championship South & Mid' but in doing so not offend anyone, is that okay? sorry Onshore (talk) 05:03, 30 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

FAW Championship templates

[edit]

Not sure on your rationale for creating templates for FAW Championship North & Mid and FAW Championship South & Mid and making them live on June 22, 2019 and replacing the integrated template I did for FAW Championship and all the links to the club pages. Seems a bit pointless - and you didn't even have the courtesy to discuss you were thinking of doing it with me. Seems a lot of extra work and not very collaborative when there's plenty of work to be done on the Welsh clubs and leagues. Can i suggest next time you please discuss? I have now stuck a CSD on my template as no longer needed. Zanoni (talk) 07:48, 26 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Zanoni: Apologies that I didn't consult with you first before creating Template:FAW Championship North & Mid and Template:FAW Championship South & Mid. The reason why I have created both templates are to correspond with the league divisions they are associated with. Although the FAW Championship is now operated by the Football Association of Wales they have kept the split the same as that of Cymru Alliance and the old Welsh Football League Division One. As discussed previously in the Welsh Alliance League talk page, the FAW Championship itself was better suited as an introduction to the new tier 2 format for the FAW Championship North & Mid and FAW Championship South & Mid. Going forward, I will discuss in the talk pages of making any major changes or implementations I would like or plan to make. Onshore (talk) 13:07, 26 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Fair enough - can't be precious around the content created - and thanks re talk pages 23:04 Zanoni (talk) 23:05, 26 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Bangor City Season

[edit]

User:Zanoni Do you mind me asking on your opinion on the 2018–19 Bangor City Season sandbox I've adapted off the model Liverpool uses. I would like to apply this to all current and previous Tier 1 clubs and to extend to Tier 2 and then tier 3 from 2020–21 just like in England and Scotland. Any suggestions appreciated Onshore (talk) 21:55, 10 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Apologies - forgot to answer this - looks good but the only point I guess is what does the WP:FOOTBALL consensus say around Tier 2 team seasons for Wales. As a league which is not fully professional (as is the Cymru Premier as well) I suspect that there could be a challenge to delete all the work. I know for example that last season (18-19) a PROD was successful for Salford City season in Tier 5 England as it wasn't a fully professional (although the club was and is now allowed to have one for 19-20 as they are in a fully professional league. SO you might do the work, and lose the article. Zanoni (talk) 20:41, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Cymru Premier & Cymru North / Cymru South

[edit]

Have you seen today's annoucement Read Here Guess this means need to rename etc - but might be worth a question to WP:FOOTBALL. I am overseas with work until 1 August and not editing as much. Zanoni (talk) 20:27, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi User:Zanoni, Thanks for the link and yes, was currently updating the leagues, to the new name and mention of JD Sports as the sponsor until the 2025–26 season. No official website yet though for Cymru North and Cymru South, but this will be launched in a few days. Onshore (talk) 20:33, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Great news! - Someone will also need to upload the new logos - not sure TBH how that works, although nice of them to provide in such clear good quality in the article! Zanoni (talk) 20:36, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@Zanoni: No worries with regards to the logo's, I can upload them to the corresponding league pages. With regards to FAW Championship North & Mid and FAW Championship South & Mid are you happy they are now changed to Cymru North and Cymru South, respectfully? Also with regards to FAW Championship should that be called Cymru Championship as a suggestion? Thanks Onshore (talk) 20:43, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Agree on all. Going to be a pain in the backside to rename all the club pages etc. Zanoni (talk) 20:48, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks user:Zanoni. The quickest ways I can think is do a move for the actual pages and then use the search and replace file, so you can search FAW Championship North & Mid and then replace with Cymru North. Its like the find and replace took on Microsoft Office Word as an example of what it does. I agree its a pain but at least we have some concrete now. I do wonder what they will call FAW League One. Onshore (talk) 20:53, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Update: I have now moved the pages with for all two tiers and have moved FAW Championship to Cymru Championship. I will look at find and replace the now on each article. Onshore (talk) 21:01, 24 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
I think i have now done them up, and have also updated the FAW championship clubs category with Cymru Championship clubs, and have CSD'd the original cats as well Zanoni (talk) 12:42, 25 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks User:Zanoni Sorry on not replying sooner, the temperature here in my flat has been 31°c past few nights as I live on top flat so I've been cooling off in bed or going for walks in the outdoors, but thanks on what you have done Onshore (talk) 02:35, 27 July 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Tier 3 Wales 2020-21

[edit]

More details on the Tier 3 leagues - A new management committee, nominated by the former Huws Gray Alliance League, the Mid Wales League, the Welsh National League and the Welsh Alliance League, and appointed by the FAW has been established to run the two x Tier 3 Leagues in the North for 2020/21. A new management committee, nominated by the Welsh Football League, and appointed by the FAW has been established to run the two x Tier 3 Leagues n the South for 2020/21. All four Leagues will have 16 clubs. (this from an email to me to FAW they responded to) See Mid Wales league article for details of how they will deal with Tier 4 Zanoni (talk) 15:41, 19 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hi @Zanoni: Thanks for the update on the new Tier 3 structure. I'm wondering if the four leagues will be North-East, North-West, South-East, South-West. It'll be interesting to see it all develop over the coming months. Also have you seen the message I have left for you on the Cymru Championship talk page? Thanks Onshore (talk) 10:29, 21 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]
