@TheChunky: Is the only issue that the citations themselves aren't "good" enough? I'm a little confused, given that most of them are scholarly articles and NIST. Would you be able to further clarify what is desired? Maslen (talk) 20:19, 11 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, Maslen! Having an article draft declined at Articles for Creation can be disappointing. Hey Maslen, I understand that it can be disappointing to have a draft article declined, but it's important to remember that Wikipedia's notability guidelines exist to ensure that the information included on the site is reliable and verifiable. It's great that you've included scholarly citations in your draft, but it sounds like they may not be independent enough to meet the guidelines except one or two of them.
Don't let this setback discourage you! The fact that you've taken the time to research and write a draft article shows that you're passionate about the topic and have valuable knowledge to share. Keep working on improving the article, and don't be afraid to reach out to other editors for feedback or guidance at Wikipedia:Teahouse. Remember that the Wikipedia community is there to help and support each other. Keep it up! Regards. ❯❯❯ Chunky aka Al Kashmiri (✍️) 21:58, 11 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi @TheChunky : I've updated the references so that they are properly cited as books, journals, and conferences. 8/12 of the references are from those academic sources, which I'd think would be acceptable. Are more citations necessary or are those citations unacceptable for some other reason? Maslen (talk) 14:53, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Great work, Maslen, on improving the references in the Draft:Fuzzy Hashing. It is always helpful to have accurate and reliable sources to back up the information in the article. With the current drive of reviewers reviewing articles, I would like to pass this article on to another reviewer for further review. Keep up the good work and continue to add more relevant information with proper citations if possible. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. ❯❯❯ Chunky aka Al Kashmiri (✍️) 18:25, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I'll resubmit it then, so it goes back into the AFC queue. Thanks again for helping polish it. Maslen (talk) 19:13, 12 January 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Creating articles

[edit]

Hi Maslen, you may already be aware but just in case, you do not need to submit your drafts to AfC for review (unless you have a COI or something like that). Given you are well passed autoconfirmed, you can move them directly to article space where they will be reviewed by WP:NPP. Usually if they think an article is not ready, they move them back to draft where it can be improved, then either moved back to article, where it will be reviewed again by NPP, or submitted to AfC. Of course, you are welcome to continue submitting to AfC. S0091 (talk) 15:04, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for reviewing the draft and for the guidance, both are much appreciated. Maslen (talk) 15:11, 9 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]
