No problem. If you encounter any issues, don't hesitate to ask me, or leave a message at the help desk. -Reconsider! 06:14, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]
What are your areas of interest? I could recommend some projects. -Reconsider! 06:18, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am meteorologist by trade, and I notice some of the more specialized articles within there is in need of clarification - in comparison to the ones I saw for physics and mathematics. At the same time, some topics may be political sensitive due to its relationship with climate change, and may be difficult to find consensus even if scholarly articles are cited.

I also have a general interest in history. I love to read books concerning the topic, but I will not claim expertise on that (laugh).

I have interest in Japanese animation/manga as well (as you might have guessed). In fact, I choose my first article to be that because I think it is easier to handle than meteorology topics.

Scchan (talk) 06:51, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Perhaps you should join the team at Project Meteorology. It's probably a good place to start because there you can find a list of articles that require attention. -Reconsider! 07:06, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the information, I will try to get in touch people there. Scchan (talk) 18:42, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi - welcome to Wikipedia - Just out of curiosity which forecasting center do you work for? Jason Rees (talk) 18:59, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I am actually a post-doc in FSU, but I have some collaboration with NCEP. I am mostly a data analysis person, but been running some regional models more recently.

Scchan (talk) 19:04, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Ah right - As i said on the WP:Meteorology page - feel free to jump in anywhere you want to and start editing.Jason Rees (talk) 19:09, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have nominated Baggataway (manga), an article that you created, for deletion. I do not think that this article satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and have explained why at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Baggataway (manga). Your opinions on the matter are welcome at that same discussion page; also, you are welcome to edit the article to address these concerns. Thank you for your time.

Please contact me if you're unsure why you received this message. Orange Mike | Talk 17:45, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have replied to that deletion nomination page. I will try include more content to the page, but please give some time. May be not ready yet for outside access (more like should be in scratch place); anyway, I welcome any recommendation for my first ever page created from scratch.

Scchan (talk) 18:30, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

You have certain bullies who insist that no one else's reasoning is valid, and that we must obey their whims. Try to ignore them. Articles are kept even when they insist they must be deleted, and no matter how many long winded conversations they keep repeating, you don't have to follow the guidelines, they only suggestions. Notability is determined by consensus of those participating in the AFD, and of course the Wikipedia policies, all of which have been met. And please add a keep somewhere on the AFD page, if you want it kept. Closing administrators don't read every single thing written. If enough people say keep, it'll usually close as keep or no consensus. Dream Focus 03:23, 4 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your reply on the deletion page. When I first decide to create that page, I know the title is somewhat on the fringe to begin with, but in my opinion it is underrated; the art style of Baggataway is better than a lot of well known title that I know. I fall in love with the tile, so I decide to make a page - my first one; knowing the risk of being deleted really do exist, but I am kind of surprised how fast it does come.

It is my opinion that getting published (in an accountable journals and magazines) is a great achievement. I wish to show encouragement to every (manga or not) artist that have successfully published. I do understand there are biases exists in review process - famous scientist, writers and artist will never get turned away, but all those who become famous have all survived being published the first time. Internet should not be a place to determine who is the best; someone got certified for doing something good, give that someone a high-five if you can.

I know in the end the page may possibly deleted, but I am still very happy I have tried to create my first page. If it did not work, oh well. Anyhow, I can try contribute to other pages as well. I do not want to play the real job and life card, but sometimes you just have to use it - finite time = limited time spend on hobbies and volunteer stuff - be that Wikipedia or anything else (I do Tai Chi, local anime club things, that eats up a lot of time as well). I would rather be doing something that I know productive without doubt, than to argue about whether a webpage should exist or not. Cheers. Scchan (talk) 01:14, 6 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Another welcome

[edit]

Hi there. I'd also like to welcome you to Wikipedia and to the meteorology WikiProject. It's great to see that you're already fixing up some articles; we could always use the help clarifying and expanding meteorology-related article. Aside from the main meteorology project, there are also sub-projects for tropical cyclones, severe thunderstorms and tornadoes, and non-tropical weather events that you might be interested in. If you ever need any help getting your bearings around here, don't hesitate to contact me on my talk page. Good luck! –Juliancolton | Talk 19:28, 2 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Baggataway_MangaCover.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Baggataway_MangaCover.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Melesse (talk) 04:47, 10 April 2010 (UTC)[reply]

The image was associated with a page that was userfyed (please see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Baggataway (manga). Please delete the image for now (I do not believe I can delete the image myself), and I will re-post the image when I userfyed page is ready again for the main space.
