A tag has been placed on Lelean Memorial School requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag - if no such tag exists then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hangon tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. —DuncanWhat I Do / What I Say 15:42, 15 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Charles Oswald Lelean requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for biographies. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles – see the Article Wizard.

Please don't add categories that don't already exist, such as Category:Methodist Church of Fiji and Rotuma, to articles. If a category link is red when you save the article, then you have to do one of three things: (a) create it immediately, (b) double check if you just made a typing or wording error and the category already exists at a different name, or (c) remove it from the article. Articles are not allowed to have redlinked categories on them. Thanks. Bearcat (talk) 00:05, 12 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have tried amending this previously after one of the wikipedia editors had placed a speedy deletion notice against it. I hope that whoever has placed this 'speedy deletion' notice will tell me what exactly is wrong so that I can make the necessary changes to the offending portions of the article. I would just like to say, that, Lelean Memorial School might not matter much to the editor, but it is very important to us who attended it. There are thousands of members of the alumni of Lelean Memorial School living in Fiji and all over the world. Lelean Memorial School has made an indelible mark on Fiji's history and continues to do so today. All the articles and images that I have used were authored by me, Sakiasi Ditoka. They may appear in some form in other websites such as Facebook and Ning but I would just like to state without fear of contradiction, that all those articles were authored by myself.

I hope that clarifies things a bit.

Thanks,

Hi, I have deleted the Facebook article which appears to have been 'copied and pasted' onto wikipedia. In fact I retyped the whole article. It was not copied and pasted. I am the author of the article but it can be verified by many sources.

Sditoka (talk) 00:13, 13 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I'm very much afraid that deleting the original article does not eradicate the copyright concerns, though I can understand why you might think so. Under the U.S. law that governs Wikipedia, copyright is bestowed automatically on creation. Removal from publication does not erase that copyright protection, I'm afraid. Your best recourse at this point is to restore the Facebook page as it was and to log your release to this content there, as instructed above.
Please do note, however, that copyright permission will only take care of one concern with this content. Frequently, content copied from official sites or sites created to honor organizations does not meet other policies and guidelines on Wikipedia, and the content may be modified or removed if community consensus is that this does not. You may wish to review Wikipedia:Your first article for some basic suggestions for development once copyright concerns are addressed. --Moonriddengirl (talk) 13:32, 20 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Jimione Samisoni, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://www.rotuma.net/os/biographies/Jimione_Samisoni/Jimione_Samisoni.htm.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.)
