Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia. We appreciate your contributions, but in one of your recent edits, it appears that you have added original research, which is against Wikipedia's policies. Original research refers to material—such as facts, allegations, ideas, and personal experiences—for which no reliable, published sources exist; it also encompasses combining published sources in a way to imply something that none of them explicitly say. Please be prepared to cite a reliable source for all of your contributions. You can have a look at the tutorial on citing sources. Thank you. Technopat (talk) 10:58, 9 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. I noticed that you recently added commentary to an article, Don Imus. While Wikipedia welcomes editors' opinions on an article and how it could be changed, these comments are more appropriate for the article's accompanying talk page. If you post your comments there, other editors working on the same article will notice and respond to them, and your comments will not disrupt the flow of the article. However, keep in mind that even on the talk page of an article, you should limit your discussion to improving the article. Article talk pages are not the place to discuss opinions of the subject of articles, nor are such pages a forum. Thank you. -- Wesoree (talk·contribs) 23:01, 11 May 2023 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of 60 hours for persistently adding unsourced or poorly sourced content. Verifiability is a core Wikipedia policy, as you did at Jim Brown. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions.
If you think there are good reasons for being unblocked, please read the guide to appealing blocks, then add the following text at the bottom of your talk page: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.  —Bagumba (talk) 06:04, 1 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
How on earth can you consider my listing of Jim Brown's leading man credits throughout the 1970's as being unsourced? All you have to do is go to IMDb. I did it from memory as a FAN of Jim Brown. But you people only list two movies Brown did in 1970 to cover his entire 1970's leading man status, and then it goes into the 80's when he hardly had a movie career. You skip past his entire leading man movie career, and you fault me for simply adding those movies. This is racism, pure and simple. Everything I wrote were the TITLES of his movies. SealedCargo (talk) 07:37, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]
We cannot use IMDB as a source with limited exceptions, as it is user-generated content, meaning anyone from anywhere can add anything. This page has more information. Ritchie333 (talk) (cont) 11:27, 12 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Tell you what. YOU can list these movies that Jim Brown actually STARRED in:
Slaughter (1972), Black Gunn (1972), Slaughter's Big Rip-Off (1973), The Slams (1973), I Escaped from Devil's Island (1973), Three the Hard Way (1974), Take a Hard Ride (1975), Vengeance (1976).
Don't be afraid of low-budget action films. They're more popular today than even The Dirty Dozen or Ice Station Zebra. And he spend most of the 1970's doing them.
Having his movie bio go from the year 1970 to the 1980's when he hardly worked in movies is just downright cruel. SealedCargo (talk) 07:48, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Jim Brown's 1970's Filmography

[edit]

Ok, so... you guys omit almost all of Jim Brown's leading man credits during the 1970's, movies like Black Gunn, Slaughter, Slaughter's Big Rip-Off, The Slam, Take A Hard Ride, Three the Hard Way, Kid Vengeance. The only movies you credit Jim Brown for during the 1970's are two movies from the year 1970. That shows racism on YOUR part for not including low budget films in which he STARRED. I will take this to a higher court. SealedCargo (talk) 07:35, 3 June 2023 (UTC)[reply]

SealedCargo, this project is an encyclopedia, not a fan site. We would be happy to include these films, but we require information to be verifiable to a reliable source, and you haven't provided one. We cannot use IMDb or sites like it that accept contributions from users, as you've been told. If these low-budget films have a cult following then surely some magazine or website must have written about them? Just provide a link to one. Nobody is going to do it for you.
Also, we have a policy forbidding legal threats on Wikipedia. Editors who make legal threats on Wikipedia are blocked unless and until the threat is retracted. I encourage you to strike or remove that comment.
And stop calling other people racist. It is not racist to ask you to provide a source, that is this website's policy and applies to everyone who edits here. If you continue adding unsourced material to Wikipedia and calling editors racist who remove it, you will be blocked from editing. Thank you.
