Thanks for helping to expand the articles about Desert Fathers and anchorites that I had created. Just be sure to follow Wikipedia Manual of Style guidelines. Also, Wikiquote might be a better place to add longer collections of quotes. Thanks again and blessings. Florificapis (talk) 06:41, 6 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

You are most welcome. Good point about the quotes. I'll thin them down a bit on the pages I edited. Blessings. Swehlam (talk) 20:17, 8 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hello! Welcome to Wikipedia!

The easiest way to create a new article without going through AfC is to type the the title in the search box. If the article doesn't exist, you will be redirected to the search view. "You may create the page, but consider checking the search results below to see whether the topic is already covered." - if you follow that link, you should be able to make the article there. You can see this in action if you Search for Example Article.

Alternatively, "The Basics" section of WP:YFA has a box that you can use to create the article. ~ Matthewrb Talk to me · Changes I've made 16:15, 15 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Advice for book citations

[edit]

Hey I noticed that you are a relatively new user in terms of edit count. You have made some good and interesting articles and I just want to tell you about an easier way to handle book citations. You can put the sources into a "Works cited" section and have them called upon within the text (example: The Only Game in Town (film)). I could do it for Council of Constantinople (843) as another example. I learned how to do it a year ago and it made editing far more easy. Jon698 (talk) 01:53, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jon. Thanks for reaching out. I would be grateful if you did it for Council of Constantinople (843) to show me how to do it. I primarily use Visual Editor, and I am unsure how to connect the citations to the Works Cited page like you mentioned. Thanks again for letting me know about this! Swehlam (talk) 01:57, 15 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
  • @Swehlam: I did the edit to the page. I noticed that some of the book citations did not have page numbers. I would advise to always do that and the "p=" in the citation template easily allows you to do so with each specific callback. Jon698 (talk) 15:18, 18 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]

The Barnstar of Christianity
Hey, I just made my first Barnstar (TOTALLY did not steal it from the previous individual who posted on your talk page).

Thank you VERY much for your creation of The Ascetical Homilies of Isaac the Syrian. For such an influential text in Orthodoxy, I am shocked that it was not created years earlier. I bought a copy from Holy Transfiguration 2 years ago but have yet to go through the whole thing.

It's quite a beautiful text and I thank you again for giving it the attention it deserves on here. That Coptic Guyping me! (talk) (contribs) 03:05, 17 February 2024 (UTC)[reply]
