File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading File:NirvanaRollingStones.jpeg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. It may be deleted soon, unless we can determine the license and the source of the file. If you know this information, then you can add a copyright tag to the image description page.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their license and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link.

If you have any questions, please feel free to ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thanks again for your cooperation. JD554 (talk) 10:00, 3 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on File:Megadeth at Nottingham, UK 02.18.08.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section F1 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the image is an unused redundant copy (all pixels the same or scaled down) of an image in the same file format, which is on Wikipedia (not on Commons), and all inward links have been updated.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Fair use rationale for File:RustedPieces DVD.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to File:RustedPieces DVD.jpg. I notice the file page specifies that the file is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the file description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. JD554 (talk) 06:41, 5 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Copyvio uploads

[edit]

Please do not upload images that do not belong to you as your own work. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously, and failing to do the same undermines the goals of the project, damaging it in many ways and wasting a lot of time. If you continue, you will be blocked from editing. J Milburn (talk) 19:20, 23 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

By rights, I should be blocking you now- you were very clearly warned above about uploading album covers with PD-self claims. However, as you tried to add a non-free use rationale, I am willing to assume that was just a mistake. Please, please be more careful. You do seem to want to help Wikipedia, but your carelessness with non-free content is not acceptable. If you have any questions, you're welcome to contact me on my talk page. Proposed deletion of Teddy/Marty

[edit]

The article Teddy/Marty has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

I cannot verify that this band even exists. Searches on the band name come back blank, same for searches of the the band members using the NEAR operator. Teddy Long seems to refer to a WWE wrestler, and his article states nothing of an ambition to make music. Resvi Records also comes back blank.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{dated prod}} will stop the Proposed Deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. The Speedy Deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and Articles for Deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Excirial (Contact me,Contribs) 14:01, 23 October 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Teddy/Marty requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a band or musician, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, as well as our subject-specific notability guideline for musical topics. You may also wish to consider using a Wizard to help you create articles - see the Article Wizard.

Lastly, please note that if the page does get deleted, you can contact one of these admins to request that they userfy the page or have a copy emailed to you. Hi. When you recently edited Aushamapto-2, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Kamal (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

The article Chaos Theory (Hanging Garden album) has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

Supposed album by supposed group whose article was deleted per Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hanging Garden (band). I can find no online mentions of such an album that aren't obviously derived from this article, so it appears to fail WP:V completely.

While all contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, content or articles may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion. Non-Latin script names and Warfaze

[edit]

Hi Thrashcanman16. I'm not sure what you're aiming for with Template:Warfaze and the substitution of Bengali-script album names for transliterated ones in the Warfaze article. My understanding of MOS:FOREIGN is that the English-language Wikipedia should use the romanized names (as the album articles are titled) and use Bengali script sparingly, perhaps only in the first sentence of the album articles as in Shotto. Consequently I've partly reverted your changes to the Warfaze discography. The rules for non-English text are complex (see also MOS:ITALICS, MOS:MUSIC, and WP:ATLANG), so let me know if I've missed some reason to use Bengali script.
